QUEENSLANDER!!!

I was actually at the game tonight (and will be at the third one too) and I have to say it was one of the most nail-biting, exciting games I've ever had the privilage to see. My boyfriend has practically no voice left, I have a throat that seems to be contorting (but voice not too bad), but hell, losing a leg would have been worth it.

Thank god it ended with a try! I usually hate golden point because I find finishing a game with a field goal so anti-climatic, but this was one of the most dramatic, amazing ends to a game ever. I feel sure we're gonna be seeing that intercept by Bowen on footage reels for a long time.

By the way, to people who don't know what I'm on about... you're probably not Australian ^_^ Don't worry.

Real useful post there, Mr. Moderator ^_-

ANDAIL!!!

Sorry, I'm confused.

auhsor

Gah! I watched most of it on tv... It was so one sided at the start and then NSW made a come back. Can't believe that QLD actually made it back to win it. Bah!

DCillusion

Hey give Andail a break,

He's a moderator, but it's not like he gets paid to be a fair witness or anything, let him be a nerdy forum member for once in his life.  :=

Andail

Hehe, sorry, Kinoko. I was possessed by leet spirits for a moment there.
You know I like you, sis :)

Anyhow, sport is boring. Except when playing it, possibly.

Pesty

You damn Aussies with your football-thats-actually-soccer and your Paul Hogans and your...knoifes! Crazy landdownunderers...

Oh, we're talking about futbol! I've been living in the United States for so long, I almost forgot it existed... damn them and their slap in the butt, slow-ass american safety-driven rugby they call football...

Kinoko

Well, I don't know what you guys are talking about, but I call it Rugby League, and it's freaking fantastic.

God damn, where are the other aussies to back me up here...

mlsq42

I would, but then I'm a Sydney boy and hence must leave you to the wolves based on the outcome.

Sorry.

Yeah this isn't soccer/football. This is Rugby League/Footie etc. Probably a much better game.

Pesty

You crazy Aussies with your rugby and your shrimps on your barbies and your sheilas! Why I oughta!

now it's Rugby League, not Rugby, there is a difference there too. (and Aussie Rules is the Biggest code of football in the country, it's also known as Football)

It was a great game but it was almost like rugby in the fact that it was 4 tries to 2 (in NSW favour) at full time and the scores were level.

QLD did deserve to win, it sets it up nicely for the next one in Sydney, and if all goes well it will be a great 3rd decider.

GO THE BLUES!!!

and in Rugby, The Waratahs are going to get smashed by those kiwi Crusaders this weekend in the Super 12 final, well I hope not but that's just the general feeling I get.

PsychicHeart

just wait til Game 2, NSW gonna kick queensland's ass.
Having Buderus as Captain is a big plus.
And they didn't have one of those funny cartoons at the start, you know the ones that start with sterlo as a kid going to his dad ( i think it was fatty ) saying 'tell me a story' and vautin would start to talk about origin. 'Once upon a time, there were two great teams' yadayadayada. Yeah good times. I can't believe NSW comeback after getting whiplashed(yes i mean ass whiplash) in the first half. They still lost but it was close.

I read in some papers about the first try being the result of "brilliance" by Slater.

To think, if he was slightly less uncordinated, you know, say had the reflexes of a pensioner, it would have been a knock on, but to have insompetance to the degree of missing it altogether, oh well.

On another note, to only objection I had to the NSW team that was chosen was Kimmorley.

Baah! And I thought that this had to do with some real-life Ultima Role-playing game that opened up in Australia.

Don't worry. Most of us don't bother with more than one, so few people need to differentiate.

True, I have no idea why Kimmorley is always picked, I guess with no Johns, he is their next favourite. But I have no idea Why Matt Orford isn't the next pick or even in the squad ???
