Okay, so I was messing around on my piano and suddenly I started playing this:

I think I may have heard this before. A very long time ago. I'm not sure. Anyways, what song is this?

Many thanks in advance!

TheYak

maybe a couple notes different but I've definitely heard it before.  I can't quite finish the tune or fill in whatever lyrics there might be in my head.

Gregjazz

I can hear people singing "la la la" in harmony to the melody. I played the song for about an hour, and changed keys every other chorus, and I got the song stuck in everyone's heads. Fun, fun.

Paper Carnival

It reminds me an old greek song.

DragonRose

For absolutely no reason I can think of I'm associating it with Down in the Boondocks by Kenny Loggins. Maybe it's because occassionally there's a similar chord progression, or said progression is inverted, but that's the only reason I can think of.

Other than that, I haven't a clue.
Sssshhhh!!! No sex please, we're British!!- Pumaman

Kinoko

It instantly reminded me of some background music from LSL 6 ^_^ Though, it's not the same tune, that's just what it makes me think of.

I might be completely off my rocker here ... but it sounds pretty similar (though higher pitched) to "Kiss the Girl" from Disney's The Little Mermaid.

Especially the last 5-6 seconds.

Like Geoffkhan said, "Fa la la la la don't be scared ..." is part of the song.

As is, the last few seconds, "And you don't know why, but you're dying to try, you wanna ... kiss de girl"

Anybody else hear that?

Edit
Sara thinks it sounds like the Beach Boys' I Wanna Go Home.

SSH

Considering my daughter insists on hearing Kiss the Girl every night before her bath, I can tell you its NOT kiss the girl! It does sound more like a Beach Boys number to me, though I was thinking Sloop John B

I thought 'Sloop John B' as well, but couldn't remember what it was actaully called. It also reminds me a little of 'I am a Cider Drinker' (or 'Una Paloma Blanca', if you prefer), but that might be a caffine-induced delusion.
I know what you're thinking ... Don't think that.

BerserkerTails

Well the first bit of "melody" sounds a bit like Sloop John B, but other than that, I'm pretty sure it's not a Beach Boys song. Like Kinoko, I was reminded of LSL6 immediately, but I'm pretty sure it's not that either.

It is familiar though.
I make music.

One part of it really sounds like walking in a winter wonderland for some reason. It also sounds like something the guy who wrote "cheeseburger in paridise" would sing.

Gregjazz

My siblings think it's Palomita Piqueña.

RickJ

It reminded me of "Zorba The Greek" somewhat.  I don't know the correct musical terminolgy but I think it was the "accent notes" that made me think of ZTG not necessarily the melody.  I wish you would finish it because I foound it enjoyable.
