some programming knowledge is required for advanced changes, but you can just change the colors and pictures and shit - pretty cool, but making your own is a bit difficult

I agree with Jimi. The second one is better. Except on the first page it said that there was one reply, when there was actually none when i went in the forum.

How do you make forums???

With PHP mostly. I've written one for our website. It's a bit crappy, but our team has started working on the new version. If you want to check it out (original) go here. The posts are all in Finnish, but we could of course create an international forum there if someone's interested. And here's some "sketches" of Forumz 2.0: http://koti.mbnet.fi/dima/forumz2 (use the "2" links if available because they're coloured). Though the links are in Finnish the sketches are in English.

Are you anti-yabb?

If so I like the look of the Invision board.

How much support does it have? Large development community and all? I think in the end that would make my decision more than anything else. They are both the same basic style, so I would be more concerned with existing features and the ability for new features, security fixes, etc.

That is why I stick with Yabb. They constantly are developing it. I'm not sure about others though, they may be just as good or better.
