Read/look and enjoy.
Especially fun how the demake of Brutal Legend appears to be an awesome point and click :)

Well, technically speaking the magazine Level would be the "original" place for the images, since they were made specifically for that publication, and Junkboy just dumped the pictures on pixelation because that's where he resides...but it probably makes sense to link to pixelation too :)

Also, I think the blog I linked to shows the original games for nice comparisons

Oh, Geekosystem is the newspaper that the poster did these for? Outstanding work in any case. And the additional image of each original game is nice.

The super mario kart demake is particularly interesting since I'd actually PLAY it if it were like that instead of a behind the racer view.  I've always preferred the top-down racers both stylistically and in terms of fun, for some reason.

Haha, these are fantastic. I never thought I could love LittleBigPlanet any more than I already do, but look at that!

Thanks for sharing.

I loved the resident evil 5 and dead space! :D
Worked on Strangeland, Primordia, Hob's Barrow, The Cat Lady, Mage's Initiation, Until I Have You, Downfall, Hunie Pop, and every game in the Wadjet Eye Games catalogue (porting)

Brilliant, thanks for the link!

Heh, that MG one looks alot like a game I've got 1/4 finished somewhere...  :P

Some of these aren't really "demakes" as much as they are allusions to previous games in a series (Metal Gear, Final Fantasy) or similar, older games (Red Dead Redemption/Gunsmoke).
Nevertheless, they are crazy awesome. I really like the stylistic variety he's got going on there.

Those were great. Think I might steal them and make a game.  :)

I believe they're by one of the Loom artists, i'm guessing he was in charge of the colour cycles.  :=

Oh my God. I've no idea how they do that. Even color cycle doesn't allow you to make the water oscillate, like the horizontal water in http://www.effectgames.com/demos/canvascycle/?sound=0
(well, that's what I believed until today!)

[pimp]Well... I've made a similar waterfall background in the 256-colour tutorial in AGSWiki, though it's nothing compared to these masterpieces. It seems that the Wiki is inaccessible (to me at least) unfortunately.[/pimp]

I've made a similar background that is inaccessible

It's lucky you're not a real pimp, you wouldn't survive more than one minute on the streets ;-)
