I decided to find out exactly what PodCasting was today... This is what I found out...

What's your opinion?

If that is you talking on the second link, you've got a great radio voice. If it's not you, then that person has a great radio voice.

I was waiting for some tunes

MaiSacNjo Mouf

Yeah, lol that's me....

I think the idea is cool, there's just too much hype over something that not THAT big of a deal...

Sound files didn't exist before iPods though!

I don't mean to be rude, but it sounds like you have a clothes hanger clamped on your nose.. But yes, you have a radio presence. If I had something to talk about I'd probably podcast too.

lol, that's funny.  It does sound alittle like that...

What kind of Mic do you use? I can never seem to be pleased with the quality I get out of either of my mic.

Also, I enjoy your cynicsm and completely subtle, dry mockery humour. You should do more ;)

Also also, I detect a hint of southern twang.

I can't stand the term "podcast" - not just because it has my online handle in it's title, but it's the way the iPod has gotten it's name in there. Because, as Las Naranjas pointed out, sound files, radio broadcasts, portable media players and interviews didn't exist before the iPod!

The public? They can fuck off. First they take my gaming culture, then they take my txt speak, and now they're raiding what's left of the geeks coffers. The elitist in me dies :/

Mr Flibble

I remember when it was called internet radio.

But you, sir, have a great radio voice. I'd listen to you, I enjoy your humour.
Ah! There is no emoticon for what I'm feeling!

MaiSacNjo Mouf

lol thanks!

Although, if you really think you could enjoy my strange humor, I have "The Adventures of Branden & Branden"  I recorded them almost a year ago, but just found a place for them... "Internet Radio"

I'm kinda scared to post the link for two reasons:
1) You would have to REALLY enjoy my humor to like them.  I get kinda weird...
2) My goal was not to use this forum to gain listeners to my skits, it was just to post opinions about "PodCasting" in general.

At the risk of being hated, I'm gonna post the link, but if anyone has a problem with it, I'll remove immediately.

Don't hate me, I told you I was weird!

One tip for your life, Mouf... Always be confident in yourself. If you have to apologize for your work, either you need to get better or just stand your ground ;)

I'll have me a listen.
You. Me. Denny's.

Andail

Podcasting or not, to me that was just an audio clip with a nasal voice speaking about nothing in particular much too long. It seems to me like a voice recorded blog, actually

LGM

That was the point, Andail. (Unless you were being sarcastic)

It always sucks when someone sounds like they're reading, but the ad-lib only works when you've got something a bit broader to talk about than pod-casting (or at least its inanity).

As for the voice, it's a bit like mine except more ...  mid-western US.  All-in-all, pretty good sense of sarcasm and decent delivery when inspiration strikes.  I certainly would mind seeing this put through a wave-editor to remove some pauses, clicks and noises (like when adjusting mic).

Agreed on the banality of podcasting.  If it were inherently live, streamed p2p or something else convenient or dynamic, then I could see the need for a buzzword.

MaiSacNjo Mouf

Hey guys...

Yes, It was mostly too long, and about nothing, but that was the point.

HOWEVER, I have just launched the first episode of MaiSacNjo Mouf Radio.
(Yes, this one is actually an "Internet Radio" show...)

Please let me know what you think, oh, and be sure you listen to the commercial, this is a product that
I came up with a few years ago, and still can't believe doesn't exist yet...

Just trust me...

P.S.  Don't worry, this is NOT scripted...  It has the "Live" feel to it.

Thanks!

Reminds me too much of radio, waaay too much repetition and I keep thinking get to the point and actually say something.

Which is why I don't listen to radio or podcasts.
Once I killed a man. His name was Mario, I think. His brother Luigi was upset at first, but adamant to continue on the adventure that they started together.

Lordhoban

I first started hearing about this the other day... and, really, it just seems like an excuse to attach something hip, with no other reason. And that is just annoying. Much like the term, Blog, which boggles my mind. It is a webpage, it is still a webpage, was there really need to attach a new term to it? What purpose does it serve? Does it really make it more appealing?

In the same vein, Podcasting, sounds like some reject 60s sci-fi term. Invasion of the Podcasting People! *ominous music*

I hate to sound like an old fogey, or what not. I know what I like... and attaching bad terms to old things and trying to call it new, is beyond bad taste.

Mr Flibble

It was alright, though for a while I was thinking "Get to the point".
All that 'little man' stuff would work better as foreshadowing for a larger anecdote.
Whether you did this or not I dunno, because my computer crashed right in the middle, but thats not the point.
Ah! There is no emoticon for what I'm feeling!
