I'm a Luzo-American (Portuguese American :P ), although I don't speak Portuguese (parents do, though, fluent Azorean Portuguese). Ratracer is Portuguese as well.

Viva a Portugal/Brasil/o que quer que!

Dammit, I had to Babelfish the word "whatever". Is that even right?

EDIT:

The Last Quão Cheese? What is "quao"? It won't translate through Babelfish.

I fall into the same boat as rich. I'm a brasilian american, (mom was born and raised there), and while SHE speaks portuguese fluently, and at home quite often, I only know a few words....so I guess I wouldnt really count

Altogether it comes out as The Last Like Cheese... I used some online dictionary thing, but I don't have the link anymore. Don't know if it's even right, but what the hey?! ;)

Don't know why I chose The Last Like Cheese, except maybe because I like cheese and I was using Ultimo anyway, so I added Like Cheese...

True Story. :P

Ola,
Bemvindo shotgun!
Ha outros portuguese por ai ... RedRum,  fjeronimo e outros ... para alem de mim e do miguel...
Eu tenho passado bastante tempo off forums - e, em geral, soh dou uma olhadela no critics lounge.
mas estou aqui, nao fugi!

btw, "os ultimo quão queijo" doesn't mean anything at all!!!! "Quão" ???? Antic form of "Quanto" (how many)? The Last how many cheese?

Ah, found that dictionary thing again. I put in like and the translation came out with two:

like = quão, como.
So are either of these right? I just put in quão because it looked the cooler of the two.

And miguel, I still have that PM. :)

Hi Ultimo,
I guess you could put something like:

 Os Ultimos São Como Queijo

 The Last Are Like Cheese

hehehe! :D

I went to the dictionary. Quão means both(?) "como" (like or similar) and "quanto" (how many), but I don't remember ever seen that word used - perhaps is a poetic term or whatever.

And also, "como" (or "quão") means "like" in the sense of "to be like" or "to be similar", not the verb "to like" or "to enjoy"

In any case, Os Ultimo Quão Queijo is a striking title for a rock band, for instance - maybe you should get it copyrighted!

And where are the other portuguese???

well, panda!, it looks like babelfish translation (the phrase has english construction) but I can understand you... keep at it!

and how are we doing, relative to games?

I know fjeronimo was doing a major one with great art (done by very talented english fellow - he was probably a professional artwise...), and redruM has a demo (which I haven't played)... I am doing an ambicious game (probably too much, since it will be huge in terms of size... it also helps that I am considering having it 800x600 and 32-bit resolution - but it is looking good!) which I hope I can complete by end of 2004... And what about the rest of the guys?

haha, ratracer. actually, it wasnt a babelfish translation, but my knownledge of the language is almost completly limited to vocabularly, (meaning the only grammar type things I've learned are what I remember from spanish and latin...and I didnt do too well there :)) so thats why you would get that apperance. I'm working on it tho...Im going to brazil in a year to see my family, and I need to be able to communiate.
