I've been meaning to start this thread for a while, chiefly out of interest - I'm always wondering what different people sound like (accents, inflections, etc.) and I noticed there's a very multi-cultural community around here.
However, it also serves a useful purpose, in that developers who want to get some voice actors for their games can use this thread as a kind of catalog, browsing through to choose the best voice for their characters.
So, if you're willing to do some voice work, post some audio samples showing as broad a range of emotions and styles as you can.
If you're not, post anyway - it's always fun to hear.
If you're not sure what to say, just pick a random piece of text and read it out.
(Was going to attach an example, but the cable that connects to my recorder has wandered off somewhere...)
I guess I'll post this old thing

Wow Haddas, I had no idea how talented you were at voice acting. That's impressive.
I agree! That's really quite awesome!
That was a lot of fun to listen too. Is that really you Haddas? :)
That is so cool, Haddas!! Way to go!!! ;)

Have to agree with the others. That's groovy!
I'd like to use a part of it to end one of my tunes one day. The part that goes "This is not at all what I wanted. This is the exact opposite of what I wanted! I wanna go home..." LOL Really funny, could be great to end a track like that. I would credit you of course.
Anyway, might PM you some day to ask if you're interested. :-) Meanwhile you could check out the quality of my music to find out if it's good enough for ya. www.dewfall.dk
Not exactly voice acting as such, but just me going crazy.
A song about a lot of guys' different look at love featuring me on all vocals. ;D
Love Is A Faceless Mask (http://www.thomas-regin.com/files1/Love_is_a_faceless_mask_loud.mp3)
This was a quick tune I wrote a couple of years ago to test my new (at the time) Neumann microphone, so the song itself is not revolutionary in any way.
Have "fun"..

Voice, body, you got it all.
LOL @ Thomas!
Thomas, you have a bloody good singing voice. :)
Wow that's a lot of cool response :o
Thomas your singing is the shit!
Mr. Lou your music is great. You've been at it for quite some time!
EDIT: Domino yes it's me
Good idea for a thread, Em.
I have no mic, so I'll have to record my voice onto my digital camera and do it that way... the trouble is thinking of something to say... I don't have a lot of imagination when it comes to the spoken word (or the written, some would argue).
Haddas, Thomas, that's awesome!
I'll try to bring something up. It will be in German, but hey!, it's about voices, not languages.
Hehe.. Thanks all!
Sorry for my Danish accent! It's pretty strong at times.
/Tom
It's a surprise. (http://www.lumpcity.co.uk/~n-games/noremorse3.mp3)
Rui, you did some amazing work on that Aria. Nice job.
Bt
Okay, these two are clips that I've used in the past for auditions. The last one was just me being bored out of my mind and sick of being sick (I had a stuffy nose and a bit of a sore throat, mucus was everywhere) I wanted to see how much I can 'hide' that rough 'unwell' sort of voice.
1) 'EA Games' I was auditioning for a sim movie, but I didn't know what to say, so I just started from there and went along. It became totally random towards the end.

2) 'jenbadvoice' Was for fun really, There was this person who wanted to dubb this old (1995) 16-bit game 'Clock Tower- The First Fear'; told the forum (Don't Cry Jennifer) that bad voice acting was a plus. ^-^, sadly the part was already taken...

3) I was sick, don't kill me if it sucks. A reading of one of my sister's disney books, she reads them to my (6-8 months old?) neice.

There is a video clip of me singing (in bed) but I don't have the time to upload it (me connection baddie!) but I might if you tie me up and position a gun right up my face.
thomasregin,
I was listening to your song at work and a co-worker came up to me and asked who was singing it. He must have liked it as much as me.
I swear somewhere in the middle you sounded like the Bee Gee's.
Great job.
Rui,
Nice job! I can't carry a tune in a bucket so I'm always impressed by anyone who can!
Well, I don't have anything very recent. But I do have these files from about... 2-3 years ago. They're all from random auditions I did for failed adventure games.
Except for "dumbledore" That is recent, and it was my attempt to re-create the voice of Dumbledore from Potter Puppet Pals.

I can do better now, I have more range I suppose. If I'm up to it I'll record some kind of demo... But don't hold your breath.
If you ever need someone to get you down in the basement! LGM is your man, he did the voice on my animation: http://kafkaskoffee.com/junk/lj/comics/Zday.html
Granted he's very hard to hear and the line is 5 words long and slightly obscured by the moaning but... hey... he recreates cinema history in that scene!
Haha, I forgot about that

.. it's purely satire, understand.
Well, since I don't really have any example of me talking online, I suppose my singing will have to do, seeing as it is my voice, after all.
