What's going on with the world lately, I mean wow, stupidity!! There's like those guys in youtube that no one actually watches and/or likes and they like have 45.000 views the moment they upload their non-sensical video. And it's okay that I'm not liking this guys, but how do they get those views when no one's into them. I mean see the comments!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p_hWp_FUcpg
And what's with Taylor Swift and Miley Cyrus craziness!! Jesus, stop that bloody annoying promotion!
And the biggest dickhead I've fallen is this guy:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uZM0EGBdHOw&feature=related
People even think he's actually playing..Ahahahha..sorry cases.
Dualnames, out.
Is he not playing? Looks real enough to me. I've seen better, but still, if I could play like that I'd be content.
There is a LOT of crap on Youtube, but then there's a lot of crap on the internet as a whole, and Youtube is just a tiny subset of the whole internet. There is a lot of good stuff on there too, and luckily for you, you get to pick and choose what you want to watch.
Throwing a proverbial spanos in the works.
Gays get good views.
Like that gay emo kid that did some confused.com adverts.
His video of him doing finger-puppets or whatever gets thousands and thousands of views, BEFORE he had been on TV commercials. And all I can sit there and think is, "You fag"
But obviously a lot of people like it, and similar BS :)
Another successful video by a fag is UFO Watch U-gay

So, nobody watches them but they get a crapload of views? Yeah, that makes a lot of sense.

I take it you don't play guitar... I saw nothing unrealistic in his playing. The fingering/picking/strumming was timed perfectly in relation to the music. Are you perhaps claiming he was just pretending to play a song it appears he's completely capable of actually playing? Yeah, that makes a lot of sense. Besides, the song he improvised wasn't even that complicated... I believe somebody who owns a 1000+ dollar guitar would have the experience to play something more challenging than this.
To sum up, you're not making any sense.
The only way to judge a video on Youtube or any other media on similar websites is by its viewer ratings and viewcount and the occasional sensible comment you might see if you wait patiently and are really lucky. Most text comments are just used for venting out personal frustration so you can't really trust what people say there. "You're a fag, get a life or go kill yourself" might actually mean "I enjoyed your video" but because of the certain culture has formed on the internet many people seem to consciously or subconsciously believe the correct etiquette is to act like an asshole. Well ok, not
really, but you'll get my point if you concentrate hard enough.
The guy in the second video is playing. Watch his other videos, he's quite good actually and actually has some cool songs.
To sum up:
"I hate it when these people get lots of views on their videos.
Here, take a look at these videos!"
Maybe dualnames will come back today when he's sober and explain what the hell he was on about
Hey, I saw that guitar video once before; I thought it was pretty bad ass, even though he's acting like a complete doofus.
As for the other video, maybe it gets a lot of hits because he's "purty".
the sxephil show is actually pretty funny... Not as funny as my videos but ya know...
Most of these vloggers are just thinly veiled pastiches of Zefrank though and he truly is a god amongst men.
I'm sober now yes. I like how you guys can take apart my observations. First to be clarified: I'm fine with my youtube videos and their views and comments. So it's not concerning that.
I couldn't really not link to their videos, because you would wonder for whom the bells ring.

I've seen his videos. He can play guitar (not sure he's actually playing the song in Improvisation1) the only worth video is the one he's playing like 3-4 instruments and he also sings.
Look, I can't have PhilipDeGay have his views, when James Rolfe isn't getting the amount his worth(4M IS FEW!). All this was a scheme to get some interest and show you INTERNET NERDINESS GOODNESS!

I don't think so... BOTH of his channels are in the top list of most viewed and most subscribed.

The power glove video was actually entertaining, but he swears at random and way too often - almost like Dualnames!! :=
I've had the Nintendo since it came out and totally don't remember there being a glove controller. I'm so glad I never owned it.
Dualnames, when it comes to internet reviewers AVGN has gotten really famous. 4M views is a TON for that kind of video.
Also, a lot of people watch his videos on screwattack and not youtube, it's the site he links to on his very popular website cinemassacre. I honestly do not see where you're trying to go with this. Almost everybody that likes internet reviewers know about AVGN.
Here's a plug for a site relatively few know about:
That guy with the glasses (http://thatguywiththeglasses.com/)
"That guy.." is a site that has tons of really fun, nerdy videos. They release approximately 4 to 5 videos a day. They are not all gold, but I find most of them very entertaining.
Some stuff to check out:
Nostalgia crititc, reviews movies (most famous for his fight against AVGN: This part in particular is awesome :D (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W5aWb0Vlp7g&feature=PlayList&p=01DE62044BBC4614&index=1) )
Review of battlefield earth (http://thatguywiththeglasses.com/videolinks/thatguywiththeglasses/nostalgia-critic/16754-battlefield-earth)
There are tons of other contributers, so check them out! :)

That's not a very valid comparison, seeing as both of them work in very different fields. James reviews nostalgic video games whereas Philip, as far as I know (I've only seen a couple of his videos), talks about what's going on in the world TODAY and it usually involves celebrity news and such. I think a greater number of Youtube users are interested in the latter. James is still getting more than his fair share.
Just dropping in to say "this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GRz2UXFA5yM)". There, now that that's done with.. ::)
I think this might be one of my favourite clips that combine politics with comedy, and it also shows very clearly the greatness of Jon Stewart.

Dunno how important this is to people who are neither american or americophile as me, though
Basically what you're seeing is how Jon Stewart puts the last nail in Crossfire's coffin.

It's a bet show. The girl determines which kind of Star Wars lego character she has in her mouth apparently. :D
She's got a bet going. Claims that she can recognise 80 different lego star wars characters with her tongue or inside her mouth. Also, she needed 4/5 correct, so basically she did win the bet.
Edit: dkh beat me to it :(

Don't Like:
I hate those videos people make about what is in their closet or pocketbook/purse. They are all the same pointless thing.
<Example> (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sMiQifMhKm4&feature=related)
Over use of annotations.
I hate those girls that talk like a complete valley girl idiot because that is what girls are "supposed to sound like when they talk".
I don't like those kids that try to teach the viewer how to play particular songs when they don't know how to play it right themselves.
<Example> (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k9mDiNiBcm4)
What I hate the most are all these people making themselves the star of their own, what are they called, news show or whatever-the-hell they classify themselves as. They talk about news or what stupid things a certain celebrity has done with SFX and photos thrown in. They are all filmed and edited the same way - I HATE the thing they do where they cut the film RIGHT after they finish a sentence and edit in the next sentence directly after. There is NO dead "air" what-so-ever. It's just me, I'm sure, but they all seem to be from the same mold with the same humor.
DO Like:
I LOVE game review videos, Listening to songs I haven't heard in a while, people playing guitar (Solodallas (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dw3iYhQ5HYY&feature=related) especially, since I am a huge fan of AC/DC - I want his guitars and shirts!1)
If you are a fan of Mario Kart Wii, you should watch Captain Ellipsis' Online Adventures!: Mario Kart Wii (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wl08hLRCxkU&feature=related) videos. He has 118 rounds so far (three races in each round) and I've seen every single one since the beginning. They are really fun to watch and he adds in annotations about what he is thinking during the race.
The whole premise of these videos is to get his mii, Ellipsis, to 9999vr.
I finally got him added to my friends list and am waiting to finally get to race with him.

So, kind of like a "Let's Play", but less about going through a "whole" game and more about the players experience as they're playing it on their own time for recreation, not necessarily for presentation? Nice to see a refreshing spin on the LP genre.
