These days there's more and more amazing developments in science/technology. This latest thing I read about is really interesting:

Anybody know any other amazing developments that are going on now?
That's a pretty interesting article, Geoff.Ã, The thought that people with amputated limbs may be able to have them back someday without the need for prosthesis or cybernetics is quite astonishing.
On the otherhand, for the love of god, don't read the Oz.
Ok, I knew that this could happen with some lizards, and maybe with sea creatures. The star shapped thing (?) but this is just too much.
On the other hand, it would be nice, after getting your hand cut off to just regenerate a new one (after taking a potion of some sort, like some rpgs ;)).
sounds like really usefull but creepy too... Before only wearwolf people could get there cut off arms grownback on...
Ouaou, i didn't know that about werewolves.
I though that all they did was transform every full moon and kill everyone around them. And there is an antidote (acording to Harry Poters' third book, which I saw on a movie and I didn't like :P)
This is just bizarre! But it is cool in a certain way.
I'm against anything that leads towards human imortality, but this would just add to life quality. Of course there's a possible side effect... we could grow more recless with ourselfs and other people's lifes, as there would be less major consequences.
Well that is indeed pretty amazing, this is the kind of science that freaks me out and at the same time fascinates me.
Its a pity stem cell research gets such bad press. It could do all these things, but cure conditions like alzheimers as well.
Thermal Depolymerization (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thermal_Depolymerization).
I'm trying to figure out a way to experiment with this right now.
On the stem cell front a guy in my Physics class last semester told me he had interned in Japan with a medical team that successfully grew a human eye using stem cells taken from adult blood.
Apparently Japan has laws against organ donation because of Buddhist origins or something.

Wow, pretty interesting, Shbaz!
Wow, that's some serious-ass thought-provoking stuff. A good read.

So that means I can finally recover my manhood after that horrible boating accident. Or will I turn into some crazy lizard guy?

that horrible boating accident
The imagery is... terrifying.

Crazy. A kidney donation saved my life.
Bt
Crazy or not, it's spurring on some pretty awesome science. It shows that maybe it won't matter that fetal stem cells don't need to be used after all (something that is also illegal in Japan).
