I'm not sure where to put this, so I'll put it here.

when I downloaded the new version of AGS, for some reason my computer wanted to open it with adobe reader.
now obviously something has gone wrong here, and I don't have the know-how to fix it.
if anyone can help me out here, I'd be grateful, as until then I'll have to use V3.0.0 .

please help me.

You've probably associated zip files with Adobe Reader. Installing WinZip should fix that as the installer should associate zip files with WinZip.

Find a zip file in my computer or windows explorer. Right-click on it and select "Open with." Then click "Choose Program" and a list with different programs will pop up. Browse through it until you find "Compressed (zipped) Folders." Select it. Now look at the bottom of the window and select the checkbox, "Always use the selected program to open this type of file." Click OK and the problem should be solved!

The AGS download is a self-installing EXE file, so it sounds like you've downloaded the wrong thing. Go back to the download page and make sure you're clicking the right link.

they mean the old version, just download WINRAR.

If they meant the old version, then why would they say new version?

Anyway, probably downloaded a beta. If you can't figure out how to unzip a zip file, then you probably shouldn't be playing around with volitile beta software.

ah, well.
fixed the problem now.
thank for all the help.
