Mouth for war

Hi! I was wondering if anyone here has encountered the same problem as I have. Sometimes when I try to install my games to the harddrive it starts installing but after 2% completion it stops and says "Can't read disc. It might be dirty etc etc..." So I restart the xbox and the next time it might go to 18% before the same error occurs and after trying a few times it finally gets installed. Any ideas why this keeps happening?

I just tried a dvd lens cleaner. Don't know if this will help though. It starts the game without problems if I play them without installing so I don't know if there's any problems with the DVDreader and when i finally succeed in installing the game to the HD I never get any errors either.
mass genocide is the most exhausting activity one can engage in, next to soccer

I had this problem when trying to install Saints Row 2. The disk wasn't loading models, so I kept having to restart my system. Eventually I tried installing the game to the harddrive and it would get about half way and say that "can't read disk". I ended up borrowing a copy of the game from a friend and installed it to my harddrive, and then my disk loaded whatever information wasn't transferred to the harddrive on the install. I'd guess your problem has something to do with a semi-corrupted disk. Laser burn, maybe?
