Wow. That's all I have to say about that.
Form your own opinions.
(And let me say that all five of those games are my favorites too.)
I agree with Curse of Monkey Island and the Kings Quest series.
I only played a demo of GF, so i really can't come to a conclusion if i really enjoyed the game or not. But the demo was great, even though short.
This was an interesting read.

My five favorites are:
- Grim Fandango
- Space Quest 4
- Police Quest 4
- Kings Quest 3
- And, of coarse, Leisure Suit Larry 7
Unfortunately, since I only played Sierra games up until 2001, there are still my favorite, although I DO like Lucas Arts'. I just prefer Sierra's style and interface. The old "type until you bleed" way of playing taught me to that using only two fingers to type can really wear you out.
What happened to Sam & Max? :'(
1)Monkey Island 2
Full Throttle, Space Quest 4, Police Quest 1 and DOTT all under that, dunno what order though, imo :o
With the exception of Grim, I wouldn't rank any of those games too highly. It all comes down to personal preference of course.
Did anyone every play the Kyrandia Series? Those were my favorite games. Especially "The Hand of Fate" .
You can Download theme here I think:

If that doesn't work try to search for it on the web as it is freeware now.
1.GK3
2.Kq6
3.Kyranida 3
4.KQ2VGA
5.SQ3
this person obviously has`nt played some of the better games around......or he is insane.........
DOTT.....say no more...
Here are mines!
1.Monkey Island series except the IV.
2.DoTT.
3.Indy series.
4.SQ series.
5.KQ series.
6.Full throttle.
7.Grim Fandango.
8.Loom.
9.Larry.
10.Bass.
Grim Fandango. All the rest are on a completely different (and lower) level.
That list is nuts!
Most influential PC adventure games of all time, in my opinion, in this order:
6. Collosal Cave (aka Adventure) - the text-based game that that started the genre
5. Mystery House - graphics and text come together for the first time
4. Alone in the Dark - the root for the console survival horror adventures
3. Maniac Mansion - the second evolution of adventure games, the basis to point+click that was later used for PC RPGs and strategy games, too.
2. King's Quest I - The peak of 80's adventures.
1. The Secret of Monkey Island - Developed the style that is most commonly used to date.
Huh. after I wrote that, I noticed that there hasn't been a single game in the 90's that has been revolutionary. Maybe grim fandango, but keep in mind that it's merely based on the Alone in the Dark style of 3d characters in pre-rendered, fixed-shot backgrounds. Although I bet many other game genres wish they were as rich in story as Grim, which is why everyone praises Tim Schafer.
Best adventure games ever, in my opinion? It's hard to put an order, but there is no one game that really beat them all. All of these have good qualities that cannot be ordered: King's Quest, Space Quest, Leisure Suit Larry, Monkey Island, and Grim Fandango.
1. Little Johnny Evil
2. Leisure Suit Larry 6
3. Sam & Max: Hit the Road
4. Leisure Suit Larry 2
5. Larry Vales 1
I'm weirdo!
