I've seen it a little while back, over at CGTalk, and it is GREAT! Really it is!

I actually still have the mov file in my computer and watch it whenever I feel like laughing a bit, and feeling pirat...e something...

That's a great refreshment from todays usual annoyingly bad drawn cartoons. (cartoon network etc.)

Wow, I love that. I'd really like to see a feature length movie in that style. They haven't made any of those in a while. I'm kinda sick of all the cgi stuff(madagaskar and co.). They aren't bad but they don't have the same charm as traditional animation.

This was one of the entrants into the Annecy Animation Festival by the French animation school, Gobelins, l'école de l'image.

They're all pretty amazing and Pyrates is great but I'm quite a fan of Burning Safari... Here are links to all of the animations they entered:

Pyrates, now THAT is a pirate movie, not like that Pirates of the Carribean hogwash...
