Post by: Relik on Fri 24/10/2003 06:22:48
We have started a new Quest for Glory 3D game! If you would like to join goto:

www.qfgx.cjb.net
or
http://clik.to/qfgx

and sign up! (the webpage is new, so the only working link right now, is join ;])

This is a new project that has just begun, so it will take some time to complete. But if you have skills, and ideas that you can submit to the cause, by all means, join!

welcome

the main reason you shouldn't have posted in the upcoming games section is from this rule:

* ONLY post a topic for your game if the game has been STARTED, and you have completed at least two playable rooms, or equivalent.
Basically, common sense - don't start a post about your game the day you start working on it - leave it until you've made a lot of progress and are confident about finishing it.

that's all, but welcome and i wish you luck

Hi and welcome.

I checked out your website, and I am a bit curious about the total lack of content.  You should give some more information about the game before asking people to join.  Do you have a plot in mind?  Anything for us to go on?  What's your vision?

I just started the webpage yesterday 10/23/03, so they're should'nt be much content heh...I do not have a "plot" in mind, but I do have ideas, I do not want this game to continue any of the previous story's of the QFG series, I want it to be a totally different story. This is why I am recruiting all types of team members, including "plot/idea members" I want the team to work together in the plot, everyone can contribute.

I thought at first of making it to where you did return to speilburg, such as QFG 4 1/2 did, but not make my game a comedy, just an adventure......But I don't know about that.....seems like that'd be kinda lame ;], So I would like for the story to be totally different. So if you want to join the team as a Idea/plot contributor, feel free :]

I've decided to scrap the idea of a full length game. I want to start out small. I'm going to make QFGX a short game. If you are still interested in joining the team. goto the webpage and sign up.

You're unlikely to get people signing up to help out, when you've only just joined the forums and don't really provide any information about the game.

My advice would be, make a short game by yourself to show that you know what you're doing - if people enjoy it when they play it, they will be more likely to help you out with a team effort.

Then, write some sort of design document for the proposed game so that people can get an idea of what you're aiming at and that you're serious about the project.

People are unlikely to give you their time and effort when for all they know you'll disappear next month.

I think before asking people to join you, you should ask yourself the question "would I join myself?"

Impressive.  Two whole days.

Seriously though.  CJ is right.  Try something a little less ambitious on your own, and when people start to take you seriously THEN people might be willing to join you on a serious project.

Best of luck in whatever you end up doing.

Goto www.qfgx.cjb.net and then the gallery section. I made that first concept background a couple of day's ago, its not complete by any means though.

I may be able to help you with some of the programming, it depends on what you're doing ;]

Why not make your own original game and don't use QFG to lure people in.

If this is your first project, just do it on your own.. You're not going to get anyone to help unless you have a stellar plot and have already gotten a good head start on it all.. But seeing that you have NOTHING to show for yourself, noone's gonna come knocking at your door saying, "PLEASE! Lemme join your team now! PLEZ!!"

Anyways.. Just make something you want to on your own. Don't make sequels either, they are lame and usually never work.

By all means, goodluck
