I've jumped on the ManicMatt band-wagon and created a music video for my friends' band. This is a college assignment and 10% of it has to be "found" footage, the rest of course shot ourselves. I've used explosions and stuff from www.detonationfilms.com - which may also come in handy for you at some point too! You can also gaurantee yourselves that this video contains some m0ds inc. ShakeScreen technology! ;)

The effects are tacky in some places, I'm no ILM! I couldn't get all the band members together either because of a tight schedule, but still - it kinda works with 3 out of the 5 :)

The track is called Judgement Day by a band named Kerosine, it's just under 3 minutes long. I just thought you might wanna watch, so see what you think! :)

(currently only a 6mb low quality WMV version available :( stupid computer!)

Oh, and if you see no image, you may want to right click & save as...

ManicMatt

:D Haha I've never had a bandwagon to be jumped onto before!

Overall I enjoyed watching it - I think I'd like the music too but the quality (Being compressed too much is what I mean) is so poor it's hard to tell! *Smacks Mark's computer* Stupid computer!

Yeah you eventually gonna put it somewhere like Youtube or.. erm.. wait I'll think of something.. Liveclip? (Or even myspace, yes...)

The effects were okay except when the screen goes bright (Which I liked very much BTW) the explosions looked even more fake, that I laughed a bit.

So this would be good when it's a decent quality (Compression wise). The video itself is cool, effective, and the lead singer looks like a younger Miles Hunt which is also cool.

Hahaha thanks Matt :) Even in high res on TV the explosions look shite, but I doubt premiere will help me make them any nicer - and I don't really know after-effects which would probably do a far better job. The bright screen was done in camera using the exposure setting, so I agree it's not amazing, LOL. I'll tell the singer you say he looks like Miles Hunt, I suppose he does!! Haha :D Shiny heads.

When I can export it to the proper WMV version I like to use, I will put it up on YouTube. It's going on the bands myspace (/kerosineband). Thanks for your comments though Matt, I appreciate it! This was my first music video test really, we're going to make a proper Kerosine one with no time constraints after Christmas. Thanks again!

Mark I like it!

The music is sooo distorted that  Ican't give any opinion but the video clip is actualyl very nice. Was it better quality the effects would look even better I gather. But still I got the impression and it was very nice. :)

What a terrible music video!! FOR SHAME!

Oh wait, you accidentally linked to that Paris Hilton music video. Let me look at yours.

Oh yes, yes. Much better. But I agree, compression ruins it! You better work on that MarkyMark.
You. Me. Denny's.

Nice video! I even liked the effects. But I agree that the compression is pretty bad, especially for the audio. This would really benefit from a better-quality version.

Thanks for all the comments! I appreciate it :)

I'd love to show a high quality version but Advance Windows Media wont install on my PC anymore, and Firefox wont even load as of two nights ago, and, I doubt you'd want a 700mb avi ;) Maybe in the future I'll repost the HQ version but if you really want to see it just keep an eye on my YouTube.

Thanks again!

Yeah, Paris Hilton should just stick to porn!

ManicMatt

Strange, my music video was compressed from 600-ish MB to 11MB and it looked and sounded okay? So you should aim for that.
