Wait wait wait... You STOPPED working on a game about fighting an evil monkey?!?

WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT!?!  :o

ThreeOhFour

I've mentioned to Dave that it might be fun to see the rough playable prototype we built as a download... who knows, we *might* see something?  ;D

As for the game, yes, animating evil monkeys and things was pretty darn fun. This one is clearly my favourite, and may or may not be an animation of the evil wizard's head exploding.

I'll let you decide.

In other news, seeing as we've had no opposition, I'm going to go and set the deadline for a month's time. Get working on polishing up those games/tech demos/prototypes/vertical slices, folks, and keep the sweet, sweet stuff rolling in!

As for me, I'm polishing up a little tech demo that I hope to release, going back and fixing all the awfulness in a setting that I love and trying to rework it from a game I now hate into a game I love! I hope to have a little 5 room vertical slice done by the deadline, and am currently polishing up graphics before I dive into the code proper.

Old vs new - it's amazing how much one can learn in less than a year!

I've been inspired to continue working on my game so I can release something on the 10th!

Here is a thing I have been working on:

Before, backgrounds looked like this:

After, they look like this:

(There'll be a black sillhouette foreground in-engine)

I'm really impressed by some of the stuff being submitted here!

ThreeOhFour

Steve: Wow, that really is something! Can you turn as well, or just strafe?

Scavenger: As much as I loved the backgrounds in DWEF Disk 1, the new stuff looks even better! Look forward to seeing what you come up with!

J and L is how you look around. I randomly pressed buttons until I discovered it.

Impressive stuff Steve.

Mein leben! The memories! They come flooding back!

If we could find some way to fill this maze with evil spell casting monkeys, we would have the making of the most perfect AGS game EVAR!  :D

@Steve: Great stuff. Is there any chance that one can still use characters, objects and such? Those graphics with Roomedit's ease of use... unthinkable :D

Jared

In all seriousness, I'd like to finish something I set out to be my first project a long time ago, but frustratingly had real life and various side-projects get in the way. One month sounds as reasonable as anything, and I've really got little to occupy me at the moment..

You want us to show off something eh!?

This is a game that I have been wanting to do for well over a year now, and obviously the art is a work in progress  ;D

Oh man! I just booted this up, and it is the most awesome thing. How far are you going with this project? I was pumped for the previous raycasting plugin (until it turned into a true 3D one) but this is native and amazing. It could give us so much more variety with our games (a native Normality/Realms of the Haunting style game!) I'm mystified how you got it to run so fast.

Some really funky stuff in here!
ProgZmax's screenshot looks really promising...

Ok, now here's mine. I'm working on a remake for SSH's previous popular game: SSH walkcycle generator...
I don't know if I'll ever finish it, but here's a teaser:

I HOPE YOU'RE FEELING NOSTALGIC BECAUSE...
My first AGS game, In Another Castle, will be released in time for the showcase(hopefully).

Featuring: These shmucks and many more.

Man, this thread just keeps getting more and more exciting!

*goes back to working on own something for releasing*

edit: ... and so - after one month without feedback - the project I posted here is secret again :-X

Two screen shots from my slightly behind schedule next Barn Runner game: The Forever Friday Chapter Three

Prick and Harry preflight their very 80s super machine as the prepare to depart for the BGCZ and search for the source of the signal that has thrown Arc 19 into fits of rioting, cannibalism, and double parking.

Prick negotiating the terms of a quest with the owner of Bobbi's Fill-Er-Up. Why can't you just pay cash instead of going on quests for people? Oh, Adventure Games and your silly conventions! How I love you!

Anyhoo, look for this game soon. (And I really mean it this time!  := )

Shit me! There's some real quality in this thread.  Steve, that module is incredible.  As usual all I've got is ideas in my head which isn't really "something" I can release, but I'll see what I can do in the next couple of weeks.
