Title: RPG Maker 2 for PS2
Post by: Domino on Sun 22/08/2004 06:22:39
I went out today to a local video game store (Game Crazy) and purchased RPG Maker 2 for the Playstation 2.Ã,  So i go home and test it out, and it seems pretty cool, but i almost broke my controller in frustration because to me it seems impossible to do anything.Ã,  I had to read the manual over and over again just to create a tiny, crappy room.

But while using the program, i realized how much more fun i would of had just using AGS.Ã,  Has anybody here bought or used RPG Maker 2?Ã,  I have RPG Maker for the Playstation 1 and found it much easier to use.Ã,  But again, maybe i shouldn't have wasted my money when i could just do a game with AGS.

After using this program, i realize how superior AGS is to any stupid commercial make your own game software out there.

Maybe i can return it and say the disk was defective. (i got it used)

I have an Xbox and Gamecube and more, so this isn't about console wars at all.

But since RPG Maker 2 is only available for the PS2 console, thats why i mentioned it.Ã,  :)

RPG Maker on PS1 and PS2 suck, really, really bad. You wasted money buying the second one. They had a RPG Maker on GBC but once again it was horrible.

I used it on my PC a while back and made a demo of a spinof zelda game. Though I newer figured out how to make enemies randomly atack you. It didn't look to dificult to me...

EDIT: After reading a few posts I'm not exactly shure if were talking about the same program. I used RPG maker 2000 and 2003. Are these actualy the same?

Game makers I own:
Multimedia Fusion
AGS
Rpg Maker 2000 (excellent fun)
Rpg Maker 2003 (still good but stunts creativity in the fact that you NEED a battle sprite for your peeps)
GMAX (does that even count?)
And of course Unreal Engine Editor
