I'm starting High-school now. For me this happens tomorrow :'(

I enjoyed my summer, though it was indeed cold. I've only swam twice this summer. On an average summer I go swimming 2-3 times per day.

I am quite suprisingly looking forward to school because i start sixth form, my 12th and 13th years of school. and get paid to do it.  ::) and it should be fun, judging by the induction day.

That is if i get the results.

I got my exam results a week ago, so I go back to school on Wednesday (cos of the different timezones in bonnie Scotland, of course........), going into 5th year, I dunno what that is in the English school system. Hurrah!

It's funny, I'm actually looking forward to going back, I like the routine a little, I like definately seeing my friends all the time, I even enjoy some of the actual WORK.

Mr Jake

Secondary school is only 5 years.. 7, 8, 9, 10, 11

Maybe we Scots are just SO damn clever we deserve an extra year.........or something......

I dunno how it all works. I guess that's the result of different education systems, I know the qualifications are all COMPLETELY different, & it can be hard going to a uni in the other country as a result...

DragonRose

I'm moving back to University in three weeks, and actually starting school on the ninth of September.  It'll be good to see my university friends again.
Sssshhhh!!! No sex please, we're British!!- Pumaman

I'm so confused. You guys go back to school in the middle of the year? In Australia, each school year starts at the beginning of the year and goes to the end (with holidays, of course). We start, on average, at age 6 in grade 1, to grade 7, and then high school starts at age 13 in grade 8, to grade 12.

In Australia, people who don't go through all 12 years of schooling typically become plumbers ^_-

Redwall

It's called "Summer break". I suppose that wouldn't make sense for Aussies, though.

"Fixed is not unbroken."

Mr Jake

dont Aussies have like.. no breaks during the year and then one massive one?

Kinoko

I think that's what Aussies think of Americans! ^_^ We have a reasonably big break over christmas... so, the end and beginning of the year. The holidays typically get bigger the older you get (primary school has average holidays, high school is a -tad- bigger, years 11 and 12 have a couple more weeks off and uni... you're practically ALWAYs on holiday XD If you're me, anyway).

Then, in typical school years, you have a two week break 3 times during the year... so, the four terms are split up. Now that I'm in uni, two week breaks seem so pizzley...
