Well, I have an idea for a competition in the Competitions and Activies board. It starts out with a picture-pretty badly drawn (drawn by me, of course xD), and then the next person takes that picture and does a redraw of it. Then the next person takes the last person's picture, and does another redraw, and etc., until the picture is pretty much perfect. The finished picture goes to the Contributions thread in the Critic's Lounge.
Good idea?

A fix my picture sort of thing might be fun. Might be more fun with an actual photo. Cut something out, add something. In the end it's a totally different picture.

I don't know, might be pretty hard with a photo.

I think it shares a bit similarity with the Concept Art to Functional activity (though this item in the stickie thread of that forum had been striked out, there's actually an active one in progress, just that this is not done oftenly so I decided to let the item remained striked out), though not exactly identical.

In my opinion the current activity is fine as it is, which is comparably better than this new activity idea, for several reasons:
1. The initial artwork provided in the currect activity was not necessarily poorly made, it's just because it's concept art and maybe need some fixing (or colouring, etc.) so it may not be suitable to be used directly in a game (yet).
2. The currect activity is not a regular activity, it can start whenever people like to, it's not a competition of any sort, best of all, sometimes it began as someone is really going to make a game (sometimes the activity itself might lead to new game ideas as well), so there's no rush or hassle that "I must start throwing something out to keep the activity alive" (which as a result the activity would become less interesting).

All these points make me think that it might not be worthy enough to start another similar activity.

Yes, I realized that it was a little similar, but there is one main difference:
Concept Art to Functional is (I think) for one person, to color the picture, for a REAL game. That would put a lot more stress on the person to do it right. The idea I had was for a sort of group project. The first picture would be colored already, probably, but a fairly empty, amateur sort of room. The second person would do a remake, and then the next would do a remake of the last person's. In the end, it would be completely different-not just that they would recolor it, but that they would add or take away from the image. It's much more flexible, and easier, and the longer it goes on, the easier it will become. It would make it much easier for amateur artists as a result. I, myself, would take place in such an activity, but I wouldn't enter Concept Art to Functional, because I just don't believe I would be good enough. It would be... pretty much perfect in the end (and I'm not sure when it would be ended, maybe when people agree it's the best it can be?) and it would be interesting to see the end picture-probably a mix of everybody's ideas and styles, and the "ultimate picture", and see how far the picture has come from what it was originally.
That just gives a bit more detail to what the idea is, it's a bit different than Concept Art to Functional.
