Sad. Amost as sad as the second Space Odyssey movie ?

Aww man, that's sad news...
...but I'm sure his fans, rather than being sad that he has died, are happier still that he was ever alive.
RIP Mr Clarke

Yes, it is sad... I really liked his work. Well, at least he had 90 years to enjoy, I don' t see it as a tragedy, but as a unaviodable effect of time.  :-\
Are you guys ready? Let' s roll!

He must have seen some of the stuff he wrote about come true. And with great writers it's valid to say that they may truly life forever.

I tip my hat.

Woah, what have I been missing?  I thought there was only one space odyssey movie, and oh god, was it ever a dragged out movie.  Can't imagine the second being any better.

Peace out Arthur.

Three novels, yes, but only two movies. The second one isn't that bad.

Edit: Sorry, four novels. I always forget 3001. 2001, 2010, 2061, and 3001.

At least he died in a good age. Most people would love to reach that age. And he has a left a good legacy that will live on for many generations and that's very important. A creator never really dies as long as his creations still live.

RIP and thanks for your contributions to our culture, ACC.

I see nothing to mourn here.  He's written a virtual library of books in his long lifetime, is considered the father of NASA, and many of his theories on space travel have been vindicated over the years.  He had a full, useful life that will be remembered!
