Title: Selection tool in photoshop cs4 or cs5

I have photoshop cs5 and for some reason when I use the selection tool I cant select areas right or it doesn't select the whole area right. ???

More details please. How can't you 'select areas right?' Is your hand wonky? Does it select different areas from what you try? Which selection tool are you using?

My initial instinct is to turn anti-aliasing on/off. Apart from that, I can't help you without more information.

Perhaps the default selection tool in your version is a new fancy one. Most likely you can click the selection tool in the menu and there select a different mode for it. (or cycle through them pressing the hotkey)

ah yes all things magic always work best. Perhaps you were using the quick selection which looks like a pretty fluffy puppy you want to pet.... but... It's really just a demon from hell. So stay away!
