Title: Serious Super Mario Mess
Post by: He-Man on Thu 12/05/2005 00:11:40
Right now I'm at a meeting with my group from university. We had a couple beers and suddenly an amazing opertunity (sorry about ze spelling) has come up. And now this question has entered my head:

How to ask your friends if it is ok that you smoke some weed while watching Mario Bros 3 being completed in 11 minutes?

Ps. I'm not sure if two out of five people are into weed!
PPs. The situation is for real. And a solution will come up.

Get going adventure people!

I say NO to weed, never touched the stuff.  But in your case just pull some out and smoke it around them.

Also, i've played SMB3 many of times and couldn't finish that game in 3 lifetimes, let alone 11 minutes.  I seem to suck at all Mario games, even Super Mario Sunshine.

I know, i'm pathetic.  :'(

3 lifetimes? Sheesh... I have fond memories of knocking the game down in an afternoon. Get the damned boot!

The quest wasn't as hard as seemed.
Walkthrough:
Stand up and walk to entrence. Pick up jacket.
Open jacket => you find a wallet.
Look in wallet => You find a joint and think: "This is not legal!"
Get a grip.
Walk into the livingroom again and say: "Hello friends. Look what I've found in the bathroom!"
Show friends the joint => One of the friends say: "I'm too drunk to resist!"
(Everybody is ready to puff the magic dragon)
Pick up lighter in your pocket
Use lighter on joint
Use joint on EGO
Say the words: " DaHjaj 'oH QaQ jaj!
Watch some psycho complete Super Mario Bros 3 in 11 minuttes!
Get totally stoked!

Ps. Weed is bad...

I've got a video of it being completed in like 9 minutes or something. Or less, I can't remember.

Anyway, I say don't do it because drugs are fxcking stupid, but that's my opinion. Also, unless your friends smoke (which is also fxcking stupid) I wouldn't just "pull it out" without asking because you're likely to piss them off. I get real annoyed when people just smoke in front of me like that... luckily it hardly ever happens but one day I'm just gonna punch someone for it.

Yeah, it's freaky to watch that video...

There's various places you can download the video file of it, one place you can find a download link for it is at:

http://www.download.com/Super-Mario-Bros-3-11-Minute-Completion-video/3640-7563_4-10251159.html

Click on their "Download Now" link on that page, and it's a ZIP file which is 16.85MB in size, which unzips into a "wmv" video file.

There's also a video about megaman being finished in 30 minutes.

Oh, yeah, about that mario video: I didn't know it was possible to fly that far/high while being small?

Probably wouldn't do it...smoked many times before,  but don't like it anymore.

But I don't have super mario anyway...sonic the hedgehog, though, might be entertaining to watch under influence. Or in the very least make you throw up.

On a side note: I hate when people go off on how drugs are horribly bad for you, and then wash that logic down with an alcholic beverage. Don't want to start a long thread about drugs, it's been done. But it is one of the things that really irks me about people.

i watched da video just then. "Shivers".
I didn't know people still cared about our lil Italian friend. Anywayz, it IS a good game.
I remember getting Super Mario Deluxe and finishing it pretty quickly. About 2 days, or about 2 or 3 hours. Not spectacular but i was only like 8 years old.
i rekon that if your Under Influence, seeing Mario dancing and drinking beer mite be cool to watch.

Bwahahahahah! I don't do drugs, drink alcohol or caffeinated beverages (soda/cold drinks, coffee or tea). I can criticise with even less guilt! Say no!

I drink and do drugs and I can still criticise without feeling any guilt at all:
"Don't do drugs they are bad for you!"

BTW it was totally amazing to watch the Mario video while being stoned.

I hate people associating imagination and originality with drugs. "Hur-hur, what was the creator ON??". It's like all anyone knows how to say these days when confronted with something that doesn't come from a template.

Sorry it's just... one of those things that gets on my nerves. It's like people think making a joke about drugs stamps you with "cool".

There is one. It's called Postal 2. It teaches you the dangers of drugs and behaving badly. It also teaches about tolerance towards other peoples cultures and peace.

Agreed. Over here we have a load of nostalgic tv-shows where 'hilarious' pundits make comments about old childrens shows, and when it comes to supposedly 'psychedelic' stuff like the Moomins or whatever, they're all crawling over each other to be the first to say " Everyone who made this must've been... ON DRUGS!!".

I think this is a load of balls mainly because it's such a lame and cliched joke at this point, but also because it's another examle of this stupid trend where people seem to feel the need to reject the idea of people being geniunely talented and imaginative on their own, instead 'blaming' it all on drugs as if your average man on the street only needs to take some combination of chemicals and he can come up with some work of imaginative genius without putting any thought or work into it at all.

I've seen people try to 'explain away' the goodness of countless bands and even comedians like the Pythons through their use of various drugs. Obviously some of those people did take drugs, and that probably did have some influence on what they did, but I don't buy the idea that drugs can create, or even significantly expand, someone's creativity in a way that couldn't have been achieved without. In the case of most genius drug-users its usually pretty clear that they'd have come up with great stuff no matter what they did or didn't take

Er, yeah sorry about that little rant before, it was kind of out of the blue and irrelevant. I think I was just in a mood and felt like moaning about whatever came along. I don't actually have much of a problem with drugs at all!
