Are you into origami? Can you read diagrams? Then PLEASE help me! I need to have many different origami flowers by Sunday, and I found a rose I just can't get the grasp of.

I'm having trouble with steps 21 and 22 of the rose, but I might have mis-interpreted step 17, so my difficulty might come as far back as that.

Please - I really need help on this. Try it out yourself, and then please explain it to me. I've tried so many ways of doing it, and STILL gotten nowhere!

EDIT - Ok, I isolated the problem - I get as far as step 20. It's the transition 20-21 I can't grasp. Help?

I'm trying for you, red, but I'm stuck on 19 at the moment.

How many different flowers do you need to have? Is this the first you've tried?

No, I've had some previous experience. I have an Iris, a Golden Slipper Orchid plus stem, and a Columbine plus stem and clover-leaf. I've also got some Azaleas on my to-do list, as well as a different kind of rose and a Dahlia I can't get the hang of either. And I'm still looking around for a couple more...

...and BTW, I *think* (not sure) that the difference bewteen 19 and 20 is simply a matter of, in 19 the model is flat and in 20 the creases have started to make it "lift" a bit, along the previously creased lines. I think position 20 is more of a stepping stone between 19 and 21 than an actual folding.

And thanks a lot for trying to help! Let me know if (WHEN, hopefully!) you can crack it!

Funny, listening to us you MIGHT think we were discussing some obscure adventure game puzzle... life is sweet.

Hi,

I finished the rose, but it doesnt look right. I think I fouled up somewhere between 20 & 21. This is my second attempt (getting better every time!). I'll give it another go and let you know how I get on. I love a challenge. I will have your answer soon. Until then keep at it. I've been doing a bit of origami for the past year or so. There's just something nice about it.

Actually, I kinda finished it already - when I say kinda, I mean it's weird... my 22nd (I think, not following on the diagram) step is a mirror image of the diagram, not the exact image! But I settled for it, the end result seems to be the same.
