Title: Similar programs to AGS?
Post by: kl4Uz on Fri 28/05/2004 08:03:48
hi there!

I was looking for programs like AGS, but for other types of games.
I mean there are several RPG makers like sphere or there's 3D games Studio for 3D games/shooters, etc...

Well, I was wondering if there are programs to do jump&run games (i know it's also possible with AGS  ;) ), beat'em ups or real time strategy games.

Leningrad Cowboys kick ass 100%

and to answer the question: check out Game Maker

http://www.cs.uu.nl/people/markov/gmaker/

and what do you mean by beat 'em ups? some people call fighting games like Street Fighter beat 'em ups and some people call Rivery City Ransom or Double Dragon beat 'em ups.

if it's River City Ransom check out http://www.littlefighter.com/  i don't know if they offer the engine up so little fighter might not be a good suggestion at all

also i'm sure Game Maker can handle RTS games, someone from here was working on an XCom like game in it

yeah ;)

by beat 'em ups I meant different kinds of games like Mortal Kombat or River City Ransom :)
Game Maker seems to be very promising.  I think I already have this program somewhere around.

thx for you answer.

Feel free to post some more tools, that would be nice

Try Multimedia Fusion (http://www.clickteam.com/English/download_main.php?PID=8) out.

But always remember this:

NOTHING BEATS AGS! ;)

You can play XCom Apoc as TBS or RTS, but i felt it was much harder doing it RTS.

Little Fighters 2 is an awesome, addicting game.

Do you know that the title in the original Chinese means something like: Little Laughing Friends That Hit Eachother

Any game with a name like that is guaranteed to be cool.
