So it turns out Slipknot are going to be starting work on a new album late this year, and a new album out sometime between Q1 and Q2 2008. This excites me for two reasons. Firstly, ofcourse the album, which hopefully will follow 'The Subliminal Verses's sort of different approach to their music. Secondly, the possibility of a global tour of some sort.
Anyway, post your thoughts.

I've never been a big fan of Slipknot, but I know a lot of people from their hometown. The fans are crazy over there. I've been to country shows over there and if they mention Slipknot's from there, everyone freaks outs and cheers.
Static-X have a new album out and although I ordered it, I'm not really that excited as it doesn't sound like anything new for them really.

Im not a big fan of slipknot at all, but I guess I'll give it a listen when it comes out (especially if its apparently "different") - fair judgement 'n' all that.
Overrated and triggered drummer tbh, but they're a bloody amazing band, just wish i had caught them at Donnington '05.
A new album would be fun, i can't see Slipknot changing their sound much, they've established a very pronounced and individual sound.
Any lighter and they'll sound like Stone Sour anyway. :=

Yah I'm not a slipknot fan either, but I'll give the album a listen or two probably.
I probably won't, but they do have a respectful moshpit :D

I mean it sounds like a heavier version of their first album! Which is okay I guess, but "Machine" will always be my fave album.
