>:( I get 3 e-mails a day from those bastards. That's the only spam that I ever get! And the subject lines just make me sick. "Enhance the certain part of your body", "give her what she wants already". Spam is annoying, but the penis spam tops the annoying scale. 50% of all e-mail is spam. 90% of that spam belongs to 5 people. One day, somebody will kill these people.
Nah, but there are legions of geeks who mail bomb those people's actual mail boxes. Hehehe, and what's funny is that the spammers complain, naturally.
Another thing I never knew about spam was that it was named after that great Monty Python sketch where every item on the menu has Spam in it: Spam, eggs, sausage, and spam. Spam, spam, spam, spam, spam, spam, spam, baked beans, spam, spam spam, spam, and spam. etc. I thought that was kind of cute.
I hate penis enlargment spam too. What I want to know about are breasts enlargments.

Shut up, guys, it works.
Proof, please...
:P
I propose teh genticular equivalent to smilies: maybe called wilies?
:- (Trapezoid before)
:----- (Trapezoid after)
:^v^v^ (Trapezoid after it got caught in the zip)
I'll leave the female ones up to someone else...
I get penis enlargement and debt reconciliation spam.
Do they seriously think I'm just a poor guy with a little dick?
...
Hmm...
crazy thing is if you could prove your a poor guy they wouldn't send it to ye, a £10,000 willy job would be last thing you could afford ;)
not that i've looked to see how much it costs :-[
i know how MonsterSasha feels, my 11yr old daughter gets it too, and worse, MSN have a check box checked when you sign up, to share your email addy..GITS >:(

When I open Outlook Express, I normally have about 5 smap e-mails, and 1 proper one. Normally its: "Is your business going down hill?" I'm 14! And, naturally, the "Give your woman what she wants"...I'M 14!!!!! Can't they even check what your age is, or do the purposely send the dick enlargment spam to young nieve kids? I bet the people who write these have little, tiny pins down there.
I get tons of penis enlargement spam plus about 10 other regular types. It's a nightmare really. Recently I've had an e-mail called '15 TYPES OF CHINESE PRODUCTS' or something, which I get sent about 7 times a day. I've filtered it out for deletion now though.
Yeah, I'm sick of them wanting to enlarge my "mangina".
I'll get approximately 25 spam mails a day... I have no filters... And almost 15 of them are related with making your dick bigger...
PS: I'm 12 years old, so spam like this is really unneeded...
Hm, well, you are not alone on this one... I recieve about five mails a day, and they are mostly about penis enlargement, banks, credit cards, making money, or other unnessecary things. But what annoys me the most is that some of them doesn't even contain a "Removal"-link, and if they do, it's most likely that it doesn't work... And there is usually no use adding the adress to the list of spam-mail, because it's always new adresses and the same content.
Ugh...
"This is driving me mad... Mad... Maad..."
I'd be careful about those "removal links"... All they do is prove to the spammer that it's a real email address with someone reading it.
Yeah, I've started to suspect something like that myself...
Argh. I don't like spam.
just out of interest i checked my kids's email, she has an @MSN.com account and this started from day one, if anyone has a MSN or hotmail account check in option, under your personal profile, if you get this all the time, its likely two check boxes are ticked, they started doing this about 18 months ago, which really sucks and it also gives your name, post/zip code age, this is hers for the last few days, bearing in mind we've blocked sh*t loads more (http://www.easy-clean.co.uk/zip/mail.gif)
these d/heads seem to target kids, maybe its to provoke the perents to reply, even "kids" web sites force, gator crap, ad-ware, porn browers onto them.
sorry i should of edited the piccie but i suspect u've all had it before :-\

I hate all spam. I also hate the stupid hoaxes that morons fall for and actually forward on.
Like the missing child hoaxes, the Bill Gates give away hoax and virus warnings.
I recently created a spam satire e-mail. It was the ultimate spam!!! It said "Get paid to increase your penis size while gambling in our on-line casino for lower mortage rates!!"
Then a bunch more trash like that at the bottom!! Of course I never sent it to anybody. It just sits on my hard drive and I copied it into my inbox so it looks real.
I also made a tear jerker spoof e-mail. Do you ever get the tear jerkers?
D347h 2 SP4M!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
I love spam, but I never get any.
/me signs Andail up for some mailing lists...
Sasha, would you like to enlarge my penis?
LOL.
Sorry.
:P
m0ds
I big the emails some African Prince/Leader/Dictator sends you, asking to give him you bank details to he can hide a large some of money in your account.
DG, they they... asked you to help out too? Geeze, how much money does this guy have? He better not slime out of our deal!
He said he has $400,000 to deposit.
Har har har, yeah right.
I might set up a new account with $1 and no overdrafts, just to piss him off.
Stupid spam.... Does anyone ever get the free gifts? They sent me spam to my itkid admin box! Stupid bastards...Why the hell would I want to reduce my credit debt? I don't even have a credit card! Spam never has anything people would want or can afford. That's why it's annoying.
I also got this letter from the Duke of the Slavecoast or whatever, telling me he needed my account details to put a lot of money there or something.
The most annoying thing was that he kept writing in caps.
It reminded me of some AGS-newbie.
hrrrr
Are they taking people for complete dummies now?

Hotmail victims, I'd say..
Switch to yahoo! I never get spam since I made the change. :D
WoOdZ: You can change those check boxes. JUst try to block one of tose, then, when it says you have to change your options, just click the link they give you, and change them all. ;D
If you have a POP-based mail account, download SpamPal. It's a freeware mail-filtering proggie that takes out the SPAM from your regular mail.
It's amazing to see your mailserver go from "23 new messages" to "2 new messages"... :-\
Just when I thought I was a popular guy.
jannar is right. hotmail sucks.
and andial...prehaps...TEH ANDY PENISH IS TEH SPAM OVERLORD!1!!!!!!1

yes i did that, i never get any but my accounts two years old infact i never get mail! LOL, its the newer ones that
MSN stick the new sign ups straight onto mailing lists without ppl knowing
I think I deserve an award for the least typical spam. No penis enlargements. I have a filtered server from uni, but I get somewhat different spam than the people around me, and I'm not even sure how.
I got spam titled "ultra secret lava lamp plans" about lava lamp construction, a really excited email about septic tanks, and several spams selling tours of the "real" Cuba. Nothing very dirty--all tours from people who seem to want me to see a worker's paradise of some kind. And then there's the numerous mails in Spanish. I don't speak Spanish!
Now my hotmail account, on the other hand... wheh!
lava lamps? wots wrong with them? i love mine, spend hours distracted by it and oooh...........................................................
...................................................................
...................................................................
....................look at the pretty clouds
and.......................................... that looks like a sheep.........................................................
.....................mummy! opps sorry wot was i saying?
lol
Jimi, please post less. Refrain from making one word replies. The amount of irrelevent posts you make is quite frankly over the top.
I am going to cut down on the number of posts I make from now on (You'll all be glad to know.)
I get septic tank ones too. Once, a month or so back, an American guy offered me cheap flagpoles.... I mean, they sounded like a bargin and all, but I don't really know the going rate for flagpoles...
it was spam which lead me here
??? How, Dmitri? AGS spam! Arrghh! Nothing is sacred!
Oh, and I awfuly hate mails like "Sir/Ms eeroranik. I live in Nigeria and my husband has died, and now US bank doesn't let me get my 20 millions (30,000,000,000) US dollars. If you help me get the money you get 15% and whole money goes to Nigeria's infrasructure building. Please help me! And while our telephone line are bad, then reply to this letter by email!"
And there are number errors too...
They must think people are stupid to try and get their credit card numbers and such.

For some reason Hotmail easily gets the most spam out of my email accounts. Try excite; I never get ANY spam there.
Heh, I love the chain letters. This female friend of mine always sends me those...but never actualyl talks to me... :-\
Heh I seldom receive this kind of SPAMs (but there're 2-3 "supposedly" virus mails in my free mail account every day), BUT normally I receive about 100+ mails/day for my office's account. That's because we're actually turning it into a chat room ;D Too bad I can't delete all of them without checking, as some of them contain vital information about our work, and most of the time we're too lazy to change the subject properly to reflect the TRUE contents...
Yes Sasha, believe it or not, on December 4 I got a newsletter titled "Tierra Entertainment"
This is cut&paste
The Official Tierra Entertainment Newsletter
12/03/02
This is the fifth and perhaps most anticipated newsletter to date being
sent
out by the Anonymous Game Developing Team at Tierra Entertainment (yeah,
we
say that EVERY time, don’t we?). With this being the season of giving, we
have a copious supply of exciting announcements to make, gifts to bestow,
and information to present!
Below, you will find a short list of topics to be discussed in this
newsletter:
King's Quest II: Romancing the Stones Release Date
The Release of the Music Pack

Music Competition at Quest Studios

King's Quest II: Romancing the Stones (KQII:RTS) Release
The time has finally come; the game is polished, buffed, complete, over
and
done with, and ready to make its way to a computer screen near you -
mystery
feature and all! After more than a year of grueling work to make this game
reality, we at Tierra have hopefully come another step closer to realizing
the goal of reviving the adventure genre. Including over 140 backgrounds;
highly detailed specialized close-up shots; realistic and colorful
dialogue
pictures including new characters; over 2 hours of breathtaking original
music; new
geographical areas to explore; exciting and complex (yet logical) puzzles;
a
completely revamped plot; a story with an atmosphere so thick, you could
cut
it with a knife; and much, much more… King's Quest II+VGA is the most
original fan-based game yet created and we feel that it is akin to playing
an entirely original game! No need to reminisce over the long-lost days of
skimming the shelves of the local video game chain for that long awaited,
highly anticipated adventure game release, because they are back -- in
full
color, waiting to be downloaded, free of charge, for the Holiday! Thank
Santa and his little elves, folks - they must have been working overtime
this year.
If you believe what you've read was a misprint, consider yourself part of
the pack, and also, fortunately, completely wrong! This occasion is one to
be celebrated by not only the fans, but the Anonymous Game Developers as
well. The event seems surreal and is a very exciting time for everyone,
including its creators.
The Music Pack
When initially inducting musicians to the Tierra team, it was quite
evident
that Tom and Dianne Lewandowski of Quest Studios were an extremely
talented
pair. In KQII: RTS, this couple has completely outdone themselves and made
a
mark in adventure soundtrack history. Their two hours plus of original
music is nothing short of awe-inspiring and sits amongst the
ranks of the most beloved classic adventure gaming fanfares ever released
by
Sierra. The voluntary work they've put into this project is phenomenal;
they've dedicated more time and energy than most highly compensated
employees. The enhancements offered to the game through the music pack
should not be missed - although the game will play without the add-on
digital music pack (the game includes a default MIDI soundtrack, too), it
is
highly recommended to download the music pack for the maximum gaming
experience. The download size has been optimized for an endurable download
by using ogg vorbis, and the game was designed with digital music in mind.
Trust us, if you don’t download it, you’re missing a HUGE part of the
gaming
experience!

digital
music pack and to hear some samples in ogg vorbis format, please visit:

Competition at Quest Studios
If all this recent activity in the realm of adventure gaming has whet your
appetite, then be sure to stop by Quest Studios for dessert! A competition
is underway to discover the biggest adventure gaming brainiac of them all,
by way of a trivia competition; the winner will be handsomely rewarded
with
a free copy of their very own Space Quest 4 soundtrack CD! Check out the
competition at the following address:

Tierra's New Website
Another game, another month, another Website! To compliment the release of
our newest game, we decided to completely redesign the entire Website! We
feel that the adventurous and tech theme more accurately reflects Tierra's
goals, and the vivid color choice is a breath of fresh air. Please be
certain to bookmark the new site address at www.tierraentertainment.com.
(www.tierragames.com will also do the trick, as it's directed to the
previously mentioned domain name). The old site at qknowledge.net has
permanently been laid to rest, as it was horrendously outdated, dark,
dreary, difficult to navigate, and hosted by a very unreliable company.
Although it may still be viewable online from the old address, it will
continue to be outdated - just more so than it was before! So, if you want
to keep yourself updated on all the latest and greatest goings-on at
Tierra,
it's in your best interest to bookmark the new URL. It would also be
appreciated if any sites that are still linking to the old Tierra page,
could update their links as well.
For those who have already seen the new site, we've been pleased with your
enthusiastic response to the change. A few people even found the site
BEFORE
we posted news of it to the public (now those are some dedicated fans!).
Be
sure to take a thorough peek, as many updates have been, and will continue
to be, made!
Future Plans
This story of Tierra Entertainment has a happy ending. Or at least a happy
middle! To make our priority of increased productivity in the creation of
adventure games reality, we've decided to take drastic measures-Anonymous
Game Developer #1 is moving from the United States to Australia to join
the
other half of Tierra's game making team! Staying with Anonymous Game
Developer #2 for heaven knows how long, they have put life on hold and
will
dedicate every waking moment to the release of more adventure games! With
a
ticket in hand and nearly everything packed away, Anonymous Game Developer
#1 will be "Down Under" in exactly one month from today!
Next Priority
After the release of KQII:RTS, Tierra's main focus will be the release of
King's Quest I VGA v3.0. This long overdue third version of the game will
include bug fixes, interface changes, and optional language packs! It
should
also have a slightly smaller file size than before. The following
translations currently exist:
Dutch
German
Icelandic
Spanish
If you would be interested in translating King’s Quest 1 VGA into a
language
that is not listed above, please make a post in our General Forum
“Translation Aid†thread.
Once version 3.0 of King's Quest I VGA is released, we will put our full
concentration towards what is undoubtedly the most highly anticipated
Tierra
release of all time - Quest for Glory II VGA!
Server Space
So, you wanna play King’s Quest II: Romancing the Stones? Technically,
we've
got what you want - but we need a way to transfer it to you! If you, or
anyone you know, would like to mirror the King's Quest II+ VGA game or
music
pack, please email us ASAP at tierragames@hotmail.com. It would be
eternally
appreciated and you would be held in high regard by both Tierra and its
fans!
Conclusion
This concludes the fifth addition of the official Tierra Entertainment
newsletter. From all the developers at Tierra, we would like to wish you
Happy Holidays filled with happy gaming. If you are pleased with our
newest
release, King's Quest II: Romancing the Stones, please be sure to spread
the
word to others, as increased support leads to an increased chance of the
survival of the adventure game genre! We’ve been looking forward to
releasing this game which, we’re proud to say, supersedes all our previous
work in every aspect; please be sure to drop us a line in the Tierra
forums
and let us hear about your gaming experience!

I still have no idea why I got this letter, but praise be to Rogus that I did
Probably you had checked something like "receive newsletter" while downloading a game.
That doesn't sound like spam Dmitri. Somebody probably misspelt their e-mail adress, I know because I get russian greetings like " happy day of the defender of the country", and that's a MALE holiday. And then I don't get anything on women's day. I hate spam with irrelevant and misleading subject lines. Me and my father run a business(well, mailny my father). He got an e-mail titled "it was nice talking to you the other day". Day thought that it might have been one of his customers and opened it. I was there. As soon as dad saw the word "viagra" in large print in the body of the e-mail he deleted it without looking at it any further. He got angry at how much spam he got. 5 out of 6 letters we receive are spam. I know that because we use outlook express and it's always open ready for mail. Every single time I hear the little "you've got mail" sound I know it should be "you've got spam"
