IM NOT TEH SPAM

We went to upgrade a sony computer today.  I purchased a new motherboard, and a new processor, along with new ram.  After installing and plugging in everything, i found that the cables that connect the switch and the case leds were all connected, so that i could plug the case into the motherboard, but the pins were plugged into the wrong cables! Now i have to go buy a new case, and pray that sony didnt do anything else like that.  I should have known better 5 years ago when the side of the computer had a big sticker that said "DO NOT OPEN or the warenty is void"
Anyway, i just wanted to say i think its very scummy of them to do stuff like this, although not out of character.  Sony reccently was discovered with Malware on all of their music CD's.  When will they learn to be as friendly as the name Sony suggests

Mr Jake

This post makes little sense... What was wrong?

The case power button and LEDs were not industry standard, so it couldn't accept other motherboards.

Mr Jake

Sure you didn't just get the wrong type of mobo for your case?

nope im sure... the microATX fits fine.... 20 pin power, everything is right except for a strange looking cable to connect the case leds and buttons to the mobo.

You ought to be able to split the cables and at least connect up the power switch.

Oh goody, a "hate Sony!" thread!

I hate Sony because of their malware CDs thing and because of the shitty (no other word for it) technical support they give. Here in Portugal, at least. My old MiniDisc went to get fixed a couple of months after I bought it - it was still in warranty. 2 months after THAT, and past the warranty expiration date, it fouled up again - in exactly the same way.

Plus, I've recently bought another minidisc walkman - a "SHARP" one. I need it to record my singing lessons, I'm told it's the best quality way to do it short of getting professional equipment. My bad - the SHARP model didn't record with microfone, I kept trying to plug it into "Line In", which is what I thought was the mic hole.

So I tried to buy another one. Hah! Sony's letting them die. MP3s are all the craze now. I managed to snag a last-years model. Ok, it's probably the best model there is even now, even considering it's the previous generation, but all I wanted was a minidisc that could record with a mike.

Now I find minidiscs are dying, period. IMO the best way to store music are those little discs.

Sony = big companies vs little men. The consumer is almost an enemy. :P I may sound extreme and highly illiterate in this post (typing in a hurry) but I'll take super care of this mini-disc. If it fouls, I know for a fact Sony won't fix it proper (two friends of mine sent their minidiscs to repair. To a Sony technician. Now both of THEIRS stopped recording).

Kneel. Now.

Yea, I didn't do it alone though...

We might be able to.  We already had to grind down the metal plate in the back so that it would be able to accept the mouse, keyboard, moniter and usb ports.

That makes two of us...

But in this thread, I actually need help...
