Today i watched spiderman 2, the ending of wich led me to believe harry osborne will become Hobgoblin. Also appearing in the movie was Dr. Connors a.k.a Lizard. Now before everybody starts shouting they want Venom and Carnage, Sam Raimi has already said is not interested in doing these charactors. Many people have been saying that when he stops directing the spiderman films these charactors can be put in the next one. I personally beleive that when Raimi leaves this position the series should finish as any continuation would most likely turn out horrible.
I believe Lizard will be in 3, Dr. Connors was stuck in the movie in every oppurtunity :)
Two enemies perhaps? :D
edit : http://www.killermovies.com/forums/f47/ has some good discussions
and what about the references to eddie brock?
They also talk about eddie in the game. BTW i dont think any villans already in the games will be in the next movie so that rules out

-shocker
-mysterio
-vulture
I forget, but either Lizard or Venom for a long time was meant to be in the new game, then they were suddenly cut .. :)
I heard from a reliable source that they might change Venom's character i.e leave out Eddie Brock and have John Jameson become Venom. Mainly because a) He's an astronuat and b) he has a reason to want revenge from Peter Parker. However, this means no Man-Wolf.
However, this website here contradicts this information as it says both characters will be in the film: http://www.efavata.com/CBM/Spiderman3.htm
I can't quite remember where, but I heard rumors that they were going to do Venom (or at least introduce the alien substance) in the next movie. Then again, the key word here is "rumors." I dunno. I think they left it open so you don't know which villian will appear in the next movie. Will it be Dr. Connors as Lizard or will Hobgoblin appear? Perhaps they might just have Jameson go into space and bring back the Venom material like he does in the comic and just have that ready for the next movie while Spiderman 3's enemy is Hobgoblin. Who knows?
Plus, they mentioned Dr. Connors in the first movie as well. When Peter enters his and Harry's apartment for the first time, Peter says that Dr. Connors fired him.
Is Sam Raimi even signed on to do Spiderman 3? His name isn't on IMDB..
If they get a new director, I'm boycotting...
Has anyone seen Spiderman 2 yet? And if so, did you think that:
Spoiler
The hospital scene was most definitely a gratuitous homage to the Evil Dead fans?
Yes lgm it was gratuitous homage and i loved it. As soon as Bruce turned up as the snooty usher i screamed out "IT'S BRUCE!!" He also apears in both games as the tutorial guy.
He's the MC for the wrestling bit in the first one ;)
"What's your name, kid?"
Harry Osborne doesn't become Hobgoblin, he becomes the second incarnation of The Green Goblin. I'd say he'll definatly show up in the thrid film, and probably Marry Jane will meet an unfortunate end as well. It's inevitable now that she's with Peter and knows he's Spiderman. That should leave the door wide open for the Black Cat to show up. As for the Lizard and Venom, I'm not sure, but if I had to guess, I'd put the Lizard in the third as a minor villan along with Green Goblin II, and venom in the fourth with the Black Cat, and no more MJ, they have a nice synergy.
I did mean to write GG2 but i didn't. There have been many people that became GG and many who became HG. Does anyone know a site with histories of these charactors.
The best IMO: http://www.spiderfan.org/
a good idea is too write [ hide ]Text...[ /hide ] Without spaces, we...or at least i dont want spoilers ;)
I guess this kind of counts as a spoiler:
Spoiler
In the comic, at least, Mary Jane is the only one of the three love interests that doesn't die, I think. She just gets tired of Spider-man choosing his job over her. Which is why they had that tender little moment of Kirsten looking happy at the end then starting to look sad. But who knows, she might be killed off.
More character references...
If memory serves me, MJ's fiancee (The astronaut) was the one who brought the symbiant back to earth, and Brock (Not present in the film) bacame venom. Aunt May's neighbor, the little kid, becomes someone, I just can't remember who. And the girl in the Daily Bugle, the one with the short hair who was nice to Peter, wasn't she the girl that Spidey "kills" in the comic? I remember one fight with the hobgobilin, where he throws the girl of a rooftop, and Spidey catches her with webbing and reels her up. But when she reaches him, her back's been broken, and he doesn't know whether Hogobilin did it, or his webbing did.
The hospital/operation scene was a pretty big homage to Evil Dead (Chainsaw, Seeing from the Arm's point of view, even one shot of the arm flying was similar to the eyeball flying shot in Evil Dead 2), I think the best homage to it was the cameo of the hillbilly from Evil Dead 2 on the subway. I almost shouted "BOBBY JOE!!!!!!" when I saw him.
venom and carnage should show up in the 4th movie 8)as main baddies
Lalala! Add spoilers to the subject line lalalaalalal! :D
Well, it does say Spider-Man 3. It would be pretty tough to make conjectures about the third movie in a series without discussing events in the second.
Agreed.
There are also kinda spoilers for those who haven't read the comics.. but oh well :D
I watched the first Spiderman having read quite a bit of the comic and I didn't really think it was up to much, so I wouldn't really care if the director changed. Same with X-Men, they were OK movies but nothing special. I'll probably wait until S2 comes out on video.
Don't. See it in the theatre. It's the best way to watch a movie where you swing from building to building.
Gwen Stacey is the girl that Spider-man kills, and I think he's pretty sure he kills her by snapping her neck, but I don't really know for sure. The secretary, Betty I think, is actually a military officer or something, I don't know. Comic books that have been around as long as Spider-Man tend to get very confusing with numerous alternate time-lines.
Also, I just noticed that Eddie Brock is mentioned in the first movie. At the Daily Bugle, Jameson asks if they have any pictures of Spider-Man and the response is, "We've had Eddie on it all week."

Spiderman doesn't kill Gwen Stacey. Green Goblin does, in a situation quite similar to the one at the end of the first Spiderman movie.
