I can't install .NET V2.0

I cannot use the new version as i have this problem
.net 2.0 needs to be installed this is fine until it tells me i need to update windows
our servey said eck errr
I dont have a valid windows key
so i cant get it installed until i get vista or maybe a Very very good Copy of XP !!

sinsin, have you considered BUYING your OS? Like, legal?

The new version is nice and stable here, and all I'd like to do again is ask for 800x600 support. I know it's not so popular these days, but I should think enough people still have a monitor that justifies the "lo-res".

Judge not. You never can tell. I bought XP home, and then my CPU went for repaires, and it came back with XP pro, but somehow the guy who sold it to me managed to mess it up big-time. I bought the OS, but I never got the XP pro CD-ROM, and though there's a serial number on the side of my CPU Windows Validation recognizes my copy as illegal, since the number is for my previous Home edition.

I ain't buying a third copy of XP just becase a tech-guy (whose shop has since shut down) messed up.

So, judge not.

Illegal? Not really, google for the Net Framework 2.0 and you'll find pleenty of sites that allow download for it, it being free. The only issue is the Window Validation, and as I described, things can just go haywire even if you do own a legit copy, or at least thought you did when you *paid* for it, as you'd done a few months *before*.

Yes I am running the OS illegally (yet i thought it was legal at the time) on one of my machienes (My testing Machiene)
But on the other (my game creation machiene) I can get microsoft updates I will just create another user area to avoid further probs

I'm absoluetly lucky.
A year ago when my copied XP gone mad
my mothers friends at work installed an original XP and
updated it immideatly so i have.NET 2.0 as well as .NET 1.0
