Title: starting new game
Post by: dbuske on Fri 23/12/2011 07:25:39
I am not ready to include pics, so I posted here.
I got ahold of the original script of Plan 9 from Outer Space.
I am making a game out of it.
It should be very, very bad

Then don't bother with it and try to make something that's good, perhaps even very good, instead.

I'm skeptical of your usage of the term "original".

And the reason Ed Wood (Jr.) is so famous is because he had no idea that what he was doing was (so very, very) bad. He honestly felt that he was doing something revolutionary. He wasn't, but he obtained a cult following because of that fact.

It's been done (http://www.mobygames.com/game/plan-9-from-outer-space), I'm afraid.

Also, if your post doesn't meet the criteria of the GiP, you shouldn't just post it in a less moderated board. It makes you look like a bit of a heel.

Why are you announcing this at all? I seriously don't understand the point of this thread.
You have absolutely nothing to show for, and even if you did, you "aren't ready to include it", so why bother at all?
The rules of the GiP forum are there to prevent threads like this in general because there's no point in opening them, regardless in which forum.

monkey: I don't see the difference ;)

Guys, I think this was meant as a poem commenting on the tragic lives we AGSers lead. ;)

The Plan 9 adventure game technically isn't a re-telling of the original movie--it's about the actors and writers and the development OF the original movie. I could totally go for an AGS-ified Plan 9.

I'd say a talented writer like you (Paul) could actually do it my friend!

You're too kind, miguel! Really, I'm not sure I could do Ed Wood justice. Still...if anyone were to take on such a project, I'm sure I couldn't help but volunteer my services in some capacity...

I don't understand the rules, try as I might,
so I'll continue to post useless threads, much to your delight.

Forum members are Evil,
Even if I don't have nothing to show,
I'm more stubborn than Evel Knievel,
And while you put me down, my anger will grow!

I've also got an idea for a game.
I will make it some day.
And then I will have made it, and it will have been made by me.
Now the TV will be turned on by me, and vice versa.

[edit]
Historic atrocities are sad.

I think we've all made a terrible mistake and MISUNDERSTOOD the thread's title.

We are challenged to start a new game, HERE. The initial post was just a clever red herring!

Okay. Let's start a new game here. I invented a title and made an intro scene.
