You had to have been there, Helm. Yes, I put her under "by accident", but then I had her doing things that she would never do if she weren't under. It was mostly sexual in nature, which is why I haven't shared much of it, but what I can share is the fact that I got her to stop biting her nails that way. I know I'm not trained, but I've read a lot about hypnosis and have seen hypno-therapy at work in person.

She used to have this disgusting habit of biting her nails until they bled. After a couple of times under hypnosis, I got her to just about stop. It's not perfect; she will go to do it, but then contort her face in disgust and not do it.

I'm not out to prove myself to anyone. Plus, it's too late for videotape proof of that incident.

As such, pulling in a random stranger for experimaentation would only fail, and also, attempting to perform the experiment under duress instead of during a moment of intimacy might also fail completely.

Now for my personal opinion; I didn't believe you when you said you could hypnotize people, and I don't believe you have the ability to read anybody's thoughts, or at least not in a supernatural fashion. People here have explained that words can be guessed, sentences can be finished and moods can be detected by people who know eachother very well.

True, I will admit that you guys don't know me very well, but I've tried to be an honest and open person on the forums. And I understand how this all looks. All I can say is that I'm telling the truth when I say that I have hypnotized Andrea. There's not much I can say to prove that, however, so I end up looking like a bullshit artist.

But telling a number between 1 and 1000? Again and again? No siree.

It's obvious that you're a person who has been influenciated by yourself in the belief that you have paranormal powers (the hypnosis stuff)so, you've unconsciently trying to get an evidence of this since the "hypnosis" event. It's quite surprising that you've lasted two months to get an evidence, when your brain has been working hard in this for all this time.

I once said dad "My football team is going to score in a minute" (the other team was kicking a corner, a difficult position for guessing that my team was going to score, eh?) And my team scored in the next minute.

Then, that week, convinced that I had paranormal powers, I was seeing in tv a lotery show, and I said mom, "next number is going to be 63" and... bingo! Then I said "3" and bingo again.

I laughed for my fortune and discarted the paranormal stuff in one minute. And I was 7 years old.

Did anyone ever actually call you that? Reading this thread I don't think you were lying about your story at all. I do, however strongly suspect your girlfriend likes to playfully indulge your clearly passionate faith in your abilities of the mind. Funny how with both this and that only-slightly-more-credible hypnotism situation, the entire burdon of proof lies on this same girl, don't you think?

OK, Here's one of my starnge experiences ...

I don't like to wear any kind of jewlery.  I doesn't have anything to do with any kind of religious or other belief; it just bothers me having stuff hanging on me and weighing me down.   So I especially don't like to wear a watch because watches are fairly heavy and annoying to me.   

When we first met my wife asked me why I didn't wear a watch.  I told her that I didn't need one to tell the time.   She of course didn't believe me but I was determined to not take up the habit.   So I told her that she could test me whenever she wanted and that I would know the time within 15 minutes of the actual time.   

What I did was make a mental note of the time whenever I saw a clock or when the time was mentioned on the radio or TV.   It's amazing how many ways we are reminded of the time.  There is a time display on the radio in my car, nearly every bank building has a big electric sign that shows the temperature and time, radio and and TV programs start on the hour and half hour and regurly scheduled news and comercial breaks. 

So then all I had to do was guess how long it had been since my last sync to the real   time.  She was convinced for quite a while that I had an amazing ability to keep track of time.    After we were married for awhile she realized that I have no sense of time whatsoever and  so I eventually confessed.

My mom is an expert on EMDR which is not entirely dissimilar from hypnosis.  I am a skeptic on the mind reading thing, though.  But I wouldn't cut you down about it.

I personally think that it's more likely that your girlfriend is the only one with mental powers and that she was just choosing the number that she knew you would guess.

Look, I'm not claiming I have some mystical supernatural powers! I'm not standing on top of a soap box, proclaiming to the world, "I AM TERRANO, THE ALL POWERFUL AND STRANGELY PECULIAR MYSTIC!" LoL.

And the argument that my girlfriend was lying to me doesn't hold, sorry. I trust her enough to know she wasn't lying. If she swears she wasn't humoring me or deceiving me, then I take her word for it. I know it's hard for most people to understand how two people can trust each other to that extent, but it is possible.

Again, all I am saying is that I had, that one night at least, the ability to concentrate on a projected thought. Is that so hard to believe? I know the skeptic in all of us tends to scream to us: "No! This cannot be possible! There is a rational explanation for this!"

Think about all the stories and reports you've heard or read regarding the paranormal. I know it's easy to dismiss them all as phony and that there's some grand conspiracy abound that can easily explain all of it. It is human nature to try to find a rational explanation to everything, or even irrational explanations that seem reasonable.

One example is the whole 9/11 thing where the number 11 shows up a lot. It is our way of putting some order or pattern to where there is chaos, because most of us cannot handle chaos. However, if you look at the facts behind the number 11 and the event itself, a lot of the information in that list (found at http://www.snopes.com/rumors/elevens.asp) is either false or innacurate and therefore the "11" pattern does not hold.

Sorry if I went off on a tangent there, but I'm just trying to explain how people generally find it easy and comfortable to explain away things they don't understand as phony or nonexistant.

All I can say is that I know for a fact that Andrea was not humoring me, deceiving me, lying to me, or tricking me. I was just focused enough in my thoughts to be able to "hear" her projected thoughts. So I picked a gimmicky subject like "guess-the-number"... it's all I could think of at the time!
