In other words, it IS your first game :)Ã,  You are, I hope, aware that properly playtesting and balancing a tycoon-like game would take six months to a year, depending on your experience with that sort of thing? So creating this series would take at least a decade, FYI.

I'm currently working on several projects at once, so I'd like to consider my first game, the game I will release officially first. And I have some experience with tycoon-like games and I know the ammount of work that goes into such a game, but I usually tend to get it right, although I haven't tested my prototypes very much in the past. But now, thanks to the wonder that is the Internet, I hope to find beta-testers to get some feedback.

Since AGS is heavily graphical, you might want to consider using something else for a pure-text game (I can recommend QuickBasic as performance won't be an issue, or the Windows GDI, or plain ol' Curses)

For games that have not even a trait of adventure games, I'll use Borland Pascal and for adventure games I'll use AGS.

And if you think this thread is stupid please don't post.
Thank you.

Update:
I've since thought up some more cyb games:
"CybMafia" which will let you control the underworld.
"CybSecurity" which will incorporate police, firefighting and paramedic services management.
"CybWar" which will allow you to monopolise the army, navy and airforce to win the war!
"CybSETI" which will focus on managing a space research and discovery facility, to send manned space voyages, and search for extraterestrial life. It will also incorporate NASA-like management.
I've also decided to change "Cyb Shop" to "CybBussines" to incorporate shops and restaurants.
So, overall, I've got about 7 games to put in the collection.

I was hoping for 10 or more, so please keep sending in ideeas. Remember, there are no BAD ideeas, just unusable ones. Kudos!

I know this thread has been dead for an awfully long time but after reading the entire thread I just couldn't help myself ...

So .... when is the first Cyb Tycoon game being released?

Brothel Tycoon
(Actually tried to make text-based one back in QBasic days XD)

Despite controversy I find this idea awesome. All tycoon elements, hire girls, pimps, security, real estate, transportation... maybe mafia connections like in Pizza Tycoon etc

Beats the hell out of playing with a train set.  ;D
And in the end you can turn it into a high class "gentlemen's club", start your own pr0n magazine/movie empire, turn into the worst sleaze joint ever imaginable or just a house of music like in The best little whorehouse in Texas.  :P

Tycoonology(tm) - make up your own religion, write vaguely scientific sounding bullshit doctrines, brainwash Hollywood celebrities, blackmail and harass your critics, achieve tax exempt status, make your members sign billion year slave contracts, handle damage control against satirical cartoon shows, oh, and FIGHT THE INTERNETS! Now doesn't that sound awesome?

I was planning on a political game sometime, which takes place in a small state (aka, one big metropolis being the capital). The objective is to choose a political direction, and then try to take over - by building headquarters, maybe organize party fighting forces and finally take over, if it's by being elected and slowly amending the system, or by a military coup.
Another addition would be scenarios, like the French revolution or Germany in the 20s.

Ha, yeah when is the next one coming out!

It looks like I "stole" on of the earlier ideas...but didn't overly succeed:

Some more AGS tycoon games would definitely go down a treat :)

GAH! My past is coming back to haunt me! D: But yeah, that hasn't and probably won't see the light of day for many eons to come. Instead of digging up my skeletons, you should keep pestering m0ds to finish Games Galore. DO IT NOW! WHERE IS OUR GAMES GALORE?! |:<

I suppose if you can count Operation Forklift as a sim game, I'm in the process of building Sim Warmonger!
