I like to put my cursor up to pictures and lines, pretty much whatever I can, and try to get one of the angles on the arrow to line up so that it looks like the edge of the arrow is part of the line. It brings me some strange satisfaction when I achieve this, and will sit and look at my discovery with pride for longer than I probably should, and if I'm unable to find any lines that match up, I get really sort of dissapointed.

Typing it all out, I've just realized for the first time how weird that is.

I do this a lot too.

Yeah, I arrange things pointlessly on the desktop too.

I also count the flickering lights on my modem, trying to discover a secret pattern that will unlock THE VERY MYSTERY OF TIME ITSELF!!!

*cough*

I also position the cursor arrow as a fake comedy nose on pictures of famous people on the internet.

You haven't lived until you've seen Dennis Hopper with a cursor conk.

That QFG dragon head one brought back memories!

I used to do that ALLLL the time. It would be a challenge to always do the coolest thing with the dragon head everytime it popped up.

I also do the "fitting" of various cursors into pictures or words thing.

If I'm at my desktop with nothing to do, or I'm on the phone, I will tend to play with the selection tool.

I'll either try to click in the exact middle of the screen and then move the mouse to select each quadrant rapidly. A variance off of this one is when selecting, ill move the selection ants back to the center point and continue through without making any small squares in the 2 perpendicular quadrants.

This is nerdier to talk about it.

I have other variances that I play with, using the selection tool, but I've geeked out enough, plus its hard enough to actually write out what I do to amuse myself. And I won't be uploading a video.
-------------
I do remember once I rightclicked on a friend of mines desktop and re-arranged his icons by name, or whatever, and lets just say he had over 50 icons on his desktop that were all in appropriate places. He wasn't too happy with me, and I can understand. I wasn't doing it to be a jerk, but I don't recall having a good reason to do it.

A random, but good topic by the way!  ;)
- Oh great, I'm stuck in colonial times, tentacles are taking over the world, and now the toilets backing up.
- No, I mean it's really STUCK. Like adventure-game stuck.

The Inquisitive Stranger

Actually, I HAVE worked on a couple of finished games. They just weren't made in AGS.

Grapefruitologist

Yep.
I move my cursor to the top corner of the screen, then across to the other corner, then I go up the top left corner, and across to the bottom right corner-then I do it over and over again, making an X, to see how many times I can do it before my cursor gets all disoriented.
It's kinda weird.

When somethings loading, such as an online game in starcraft, I'll run my cursor around the box as many times as I can before battle.net signs me in.

QuoteIt's satisfying, but not nearly as much as when you've got an icon on your desktop that enables the roughly 30-degree arrow of the cursor to fit snugly against two of its lines.  That is ultimate satisfaction.  Of course, being a mature adult and delighting in more developed pursuits, I prefer to use the hand cursor to pick the noses of the AGS banner egos.
I do that all the time!
Errr... that is, put the cursor on an icon.

Andail

Woah, epidemic restlessness.

It's not that my life is full of entertaining and important things that crave my attention, it's just that....I'd rather just pick up a book, go for a walk, anything really except sitting in front of a monitor and play with the cursor.

I should all give you assignments.
Until next time I come by, I demand that you have all read Rosetti's "Goblin market" and tell me what you think.
This has no special purpose, but I have an analysis of this poem due Monday, and I intend to plagiarise whatever you say about it.

Hahaha, I'm such a pretentious prick.
Good luck ya'll :)

If I am really bored I go to dwdrums.com/kitbuilder and I build my dream drumset.  Even though my current kit is pretty big (well cymbal intensive).

It would be nice to read unrelated threads without coming across someone with a chip on their shoulder trying to drag it out.

xenogia

Anyway change of subject, another game I enjoy is sitting at the computer desk tapping out rhythms till my housemates hit me because of the vibration through the house.

Helm

Sure modgeulator, have it your way. I'm sorry I did this huge interthread crossover, it was ment as a joke. I hold no grudge, in fact I am quite emotionless as to your recent  streak of ill-concieved posts, I guess 'cause I've been online enough time to see much worse. I won't try to make any more jokes like this one since it upsets you and we can go our seperate ways without more discussion.

Pesty: we will discuss this after class.

That part sounds like a fantastic idea to me and I'll leave it at that. In fact, I had thought we had already come to the arrangement.
