As I type this, there is my most recently aquired electronic equipment on my desk. I think it is truly amazing. It is the size of a postage stamp, and black. It contains 32 full albums. No moving parts. Incredible. I started this thread as a place for people to discuss the advancement of human technology, some new cool things people have or some insight (links) to forthcoming devices.
The most important inventions of all time are the toilet and toilet paper...
Think about what we would have to do if we didn't have those two things in our lives...
That would be bad, but hey...theres atleast plenty of trees and bushes ;)
I would Agree wih BassFisherman here. nothing will ever beat a soft bed when you're tired.
I would have to say Electricity is the biggest invention (discovery) of all time. Everything that we rely on from day to day revolves around the invention of Electricity. I guess without it, there would be alot of people selling candles to make a living.
Just trying to imagine a life without electricity would suck. But if there were no Electricity, i guess i wouldn't have to worry about skyrocketing Electric bills every month.
I just dig all those cool-ass new inventions that let people move mouse cursors with brain waves and I remember reading a few years ago about a deal deaf people can put in their head to let them hear better and even stuff for some blind folk.....
What I'm saying is, am I the only one who would get all these cool-ass implants if they ever got advenced enough to be safe and cool? That would rock....so.....hard....

If i had the chance I'd turn myself into someone like JC Denton.
By 2035 nanotechnologies well be well-enough advanced that the olympics will have seperate competitions for enhanced and unenhanced physical feats.. Meaning there will be little robots designed to be injected in your blood and make you run faster, see farther and clearer, and breath easier etc. Death will be obsolete! (or take a helluva lot longer to get too) hopefully we can wipe out obesity with the tech aswell. It's impressive stuff.
And I can't wait to see what we can do with the human genome completely mapped and ready to be cracked and played with.. heh
But right now, just the fact that one little 5" x 4" card can run a complex 3D program amazes me. I mean, the sheer amount of programming and skill and hard work that goes into designing that stuff. Wow.
They have sequenced the entire genome. It was completed 1 year ahead of schedule. All 30 file cabinets of it are done.

These "robots" will be treated the same as steroids and banned...
Electronic ink, man. Electronnnnnnic ink.
Oh, those roll-up computer keyboards and roll-up synthesizers are pretty cool too.
Something new that's coming out soon is the projected computer keyboard. It's projected from a small device onto any surface, and you can type on it just like a normal computer keyboard (except without the clickiness). I'll have to find the link to the website for that new invention.
