New to Photoshop

I recently got photoshop (was actually like 15 minutres ago) and its so complicated than artgem! It has so many artistic options i never seen before. The thing i want to know is how do you turn off anti-aliasing? After i select the fill tool some options appear on the top. Like opacity, tolerance, contigous ecc. Anti-aliasing is also there but thicking the box next to it doesnt seem to make any difference. Thanks for the help guys.

Don't use the brush tool if you don't want a "fuzzy" brush. Use the pencil

Can anyone please tell me how to change the line tool back from the arrow tool? I seem to have clicked on something and it changed to an arrow tool  :o. I tryed restarting the program but it stayed the same. I probably need to restore the settings to the default but i dont know how.

photoshop has an excellent help system. just press f1 and wait for the window to pop open.
it's fully documented and easily understandable.

I can solve all your problems right now - DON'T use photoshop! It's an overcomplicated piece of junk designed to get newbies used to it so that they can't use any other paint program ever. It doesn't use any standard keys and well, just look at it. It's a mess.

Paint Shop Pro is like a slice of heaven in comparison. A big chocolatey slice covered in cream.

Well, I have PSP but I only used it for a few minutes...guess what, it felt complicated and messy!  Maybe that's because I started with photoshop and have been using it for so many years...but, if anything, I think photoshop is just a little bit too simple...and not complicated enough.

If I have Photoshop why would I need to use another program, Kinoko? And I wouldn't consider myself a newbie and I wouldn't consider it over complicated.

PS is no more complicated than PSP, really, besides having a few more features you can probably ignore.  Most people start on PSP because it has a free (shareware) download, I did, it was good, I used it for many years, then switched to PS, which is actually a better program for me.  (If you ever have to use it for a while you'll probably start to agree)
The keys are non standard? Is there a standard set of keys for graphics apps?  If there is Jasc certainly doesn't use them... the PSP interface is mostly a clone of the PS one, they are virtually the same except for keystroke differences.

PS has a much nicer brush engine, for painting I'd never go back to PSP.  For anything else I do they're mostly interchangable, except PSP is slower on large images.  If you don't do much tablet based painting, and are mainly a pixeller, I'd say they are about the same.

Tanker: I don't think you need to read books and tutorials, you'll pick it up.  It's worth getting used to layers from the start though.  Whichever app you use.

I already know how to use layers, because i used flash for about 2 years (i used to do stickman movies back in the day) and thats how i usually learn stuff, by using them myself.
