Is it just me or does anyone else feel like kicking off when you're trying to focus all your concentration on the game you're designing and someone interupts with pathetic things like asking for you to do the lawn or asking you to go to the shop. Does anyone else just feel like giving in because it's pointless trying to attempt to complete your game???

Jon

I find that drink helps.

TwinMoon

My problem is my fuzzy mind which is constantly trying to get me to add new ideas, prohibiting me of ever finishing game. And the fact that halfway through I get convinced my idea is a load of... well, you get the point.

My remedies are deadlines (MAGS) and blogging about it (so I can tell myself that people are impatiently expecting my game ;))

But seriously, no one sets the deadline but you. Just work on it, when it's finished, it's finished.

That's exactly my problem. My only but serious one..

The solution is to not live with your parents.

Cino

I live alone and I still have to go to the darn shop :) Though I don't find it pathetic or upsetting.

Walkthrough to married man with children.

Don't do AGS! It's wrong for your wife and children!
Alternatively. Teach them early the values of adventure games!
Alternatively find a way to persuade your wife that what you do in thse forums is BUSINESS!

I agree with TwinMoon. I've got FMS (Fuzzy Mind Syndrome) as well.

What irks me a lot is when I'm stuck with some stupid bug that I can't seem to find the solution for (incredibly irritaing). This is where I really need to concentrate and then BANG! I've got people asking questions or someone stopping by, or the phone ringing and it's my mother (I love her, but jesus, can that woman talk) - this all just frustrates me more since I was already pissed off and annoyed so in the end I just end up being an asshole. AGS is a real lose/lose thing.

Or when I'm on a roll and I'm getting a lot done in a small amount of time and I know I've got something to do - or the people asking questions thing. It bugs me, but not as bad as the above.

There's always some free time. Find it, then use as much of it as possible.

Two things for concentration and inspiration:

1)Caffeine.

2)Libido.
