Title: Terrorism attend on Ankara
Post by: Gord10 on Tue 11/09/2007 19:11:10
In spite of the shortness of this
CNN news
(http://www.cnn.com/2007/WORLD/europe/09/11/turkey.bomb/index.html#cnnSTCText), the importance of it was too much for me.

300 kilograms of TNT was about to be exploded in the city center where I lived on the 11th of September, just the same date with that other disaster.

This parking lot was just near my old high-school!

Damn... They could have driven the bus into the city center and exploded it while I was in there while I was going home.

Well... Sorry for this short post, I just wanted to express my tension.

I blame it on bush! Its all bush's fault. If he signed the kyoto treaty terrorism and global warming wouldn't have happened.

I hope you know i'm kidding.

Gord, my sympathies... We all can be stuck by those un-brained... for example, I lost a friend who came here in summer in 3/11. A lovely person, very shy and responsible... She was like 22 or something...  :-\

On the funny side... have you realised that you said "important to me", "were I lived", "my old high school", "while I was there" in your post? :) Seems that you only care of yourself!  ;) Nothing to blame, though... I suposse that if there have been 300 kgs. of explosive in a place were I was been I should get clean pants...

@Nacho: Thank you very much, firstly.
Yes, I know about her. If I don't remember wrong, you had also posted a photo of her on another topic about terrorism.

And yes, I can't say you are wrong about me being selfish. I of course think of other people, too; but those situations increased my fear of death much more.

Pufff. I don't want to die!

Yup... I posted a pic of "Geli". Hope you' ll never had to post pics like those  :-\

And please... don' t be scared. That would be a goal in the terrorists' scoreboard. That suckers can' t make us change a simply habit. Go on as it never happened, it' s the best we can do.  :)

"...that other disaster", lol.
Well, scary anyhow, and I who was in Turkey just weeks ago!

Brad, don't know about your joke really, since a lot of people, including me, thinks that Bush bears a lot of responsibilty for the tension around the world. Don't know what Kyoto has to do with terrorism though, but let's not start a neverending political debate once again.

Glad you're okay buddy.

There's not much more to say really, as this type of thing is becoming all too common.

I know a guy who lives in Ankara.  He was my roommate up until about two months ago.
He's been pretty depressed about the outcome of the recent elections and what-not.  I know this news will have made him really angry.

I'm glad it didn't go off and that everyone's ok.

A lot of radical liberals blame everyone on the kyoto treaty which bush didn't sign.

Oh gods! I know the difference between a freedom fighter and a terrorist is all a matter of perspective, but I am glad with my perspective, cold rage.

Heh, the recent elections were really depressing for people like me who doesn't want to be governed under theocracy. If this religion based party gets selected again in the next elections, I will leave my country.
