Sam.

I'm really going to enjoy christmas this year. Not because of my usual present-greed, but because this year is the first year when I have spent prolonged time away from home, and this is my first time back with my family, back at home. I can't wait to spend some actual time with my parents and my sister.

Plus...PRESENTS!
Bye bye thankyou I love you.

For me it all begins on Xmas eve which is traditionally one of the biggest drinking nights of the year, so I go up to the local pub (which is packed bigger than any other night of the year) and drink and catch up with many people and there's always people you rarely see. It's always a good night.

On Christmas day I usually go round to my parents house in the morning (hung over) for presents, then off to one of my Aunty & Uncles for traditional lunch (ham, turkey, salmon, more alcohol etc Xmas pudding, bon bons [containing - silly hats, toys and the worst jokes you have ever heard])

It's usually a stinking hot day so we all go for a swim.

Though this year my parents will be in New Zealand and both my sisters will be in Cairns, so It'll be just Me, Aunty, Uncle, Cousin and his fiance. Much smaller than usual but probably more relaxing

I'm more looking forward to the week I have off between Xmas and New year, which always consists of too much food and alcohol and sitting infront of the tv with a beer watching cricket, going into town catching up with friends, more drinking, going to the beach, drinking, you get the idea

Merry Christmas All

Indeed, I've found that as the years go by you tend to spend less and less time with the family, so it's good to make the yearly trip to see them. Even if it does mean having to spend a few days with loopy Aunt Doris and her inevitable "who are you again?" whenever I enter the room.

Oh, and I also veto the present thing this year. Christmas isn't about wasting your money buying socks for people who don't want them, it's about drinking copious amounts of alcohol.

Hail to this. Though as the tradition is, I don't usually drink that much because my drinking friends are all having a quiet moody family christmas. Drinking is what new year's for to me at least.

Christmas for us is one of the most tedious times to be alive...
we don't really celebrate with tinsle, christmas trees or nothing. :/
but this year I've asked a girl out and we'll be going to our christmas school dance, although I can't really dance, I'm sure it'll be great, though, I *hope* :|

Only one day to go now people! :D Everyone has got their packages set?

My brother and sister were running wild today, it was really hard to get them to fall asleep. It'll be even harder tomorrow when they have all the toys in front of them.

Christmas is coming,
the goose is getting fat...

So let's kill the bastard, and strip the meat from his rapidly cooling carcass.

Merry Christmas. :-\

Why would anyone hate christmas? Except from the obvious, avoidable reasons?

Well, I'm sitting home alone, take rest from work (christmas is worst season if you're working in fruit & vegetable business), play CS, eat instant noodles (whole family left to see grandma) and curse my toothache.
I think I'll probably buy same good, strong Estonian vodka later today to keep my tooth from torturing me, eventually get drunk and fall asleep.

I never had so terrible Christmas in my whole life yet. No traditional eat-till-you-drop-fest with traditional blood sausages, no snow in Tallinn, no homemade beer...

Why isn't there a 'I didn't want anything for Christmas but whirled peas' thread?

Seriously though, there isn't anything I really want right now except to get my book published and to stay healthy, neither of which can be dropped in a stocking or put under a tree!

Oo Christmas! This be a jolly season for me to eat... a lot.
I mean like... food! It's odd that I don't weigh over a 100 kilos by now.  ;D

Merry Christmas everyone!

Try an immense ear ache and not being able to see a doctor, chest infection, generic cold, sitting alone in front of a television screen watching mindless repeats of movies i USED to watch with my family. Come Christmas day tomorrow I'm expected to go see my step brother and sister as they're the closest i have to family now (which i do appreciate, i love those guys). At lest i get to see my nephew and niece and give them their presents, that'll be my highlight of the month, seeing their faces light up.

Christmas is just a shit time of year for me, i feel worse now than i have all year and having everyone try to include me in their family festiveness simply doest help.

End of rant. Back to the Grouse.

Although I really do not like this time of the year....

Merry Christmas to everyone here ;D

Count me in there, too. Merry Christmas to a huge and wondeful community. I'll be off now... See ya next year.

Christmas doesn't come to the dark land of Japan.  It's Christmas morning and instead of opening presents, I'm at work.  Yup, schools are still open!  Oh, and I'm having surgery tomorrow and will be in the hospital for a week or so.

Bah humbug to all and to all a good night!
