Title: The dreamer's thread
Post by: Raggit on Sat 14/02/2004 20:07:53
Man, I had the weirdest dream.  I dreamed that Squinky had done something that was just really terrible here.

I don't know what it was, but we had this live meeting of AGSers in this room to decide what should be done with him.  Las Naranjas was there, and so were some others.  And Squinky looked like Trapezoid.

We finally reached a verdict and he was banned or something.

Uh...  I don't even know why I'm telling you all this.  I'm really bored.

i see naked people...

Anyway, I bet it was all because of Squinky not finishing PF2, so we temporarily banned him until he finishes it....

I once dreamed that Las Naranjas, Barcik and me were in Budapest, the capital of Porn... strange...  :-X

Maybe LasNaranjas is some kind of Freddy Kruegger. He's in most of the AGSers dreams.

I don't agree Geoffkhan... It is known that the storyline of the dreams changes every quarter of hour, so, if we have, let's say, 5 hours of good dreams we have 20 different storylines each night. It is quite normal to dream a lot of things!  :)

I dreamt Ron Gilbert was a burning log which looked like the Windows Notepad text editor. He was going to tell us who killed adventure games but Lex killed him with a flamethrower before he told us.

...

What?

I once dreamt that FruitTree got stabbed, and Jimi yelled "FruitTree got stabbed!" and I got a ride in a helicopter because my dad got stabbed by the same person. The stabbing guy smelt of money.

Ironically, I never dream about AGS'rs. Mostly I dream of sleeping with fast women and car accidents. Plus there's lots of abnormal weird and abstract stuff, but not in technicolor like some people. I have what I call "text only" dreams. Only occasional images, it's weird.

I once dreamt that someone hacked the  AGS forums and changed the colours to rainbowy, and them stole my identity and changed my avatar to a  picture of a skull :O

My weirdest dream was probably a dream where I went to a theatre and the show got canceled, and instead the actors pushed the audience into the river and started fighting and ripping everyone's clothes, and everybody ended up wet and naked but everybody acted like it was normal  :( That was a nightmare, BTW

I've been around the AGS community for over a year now and haven't dreamed about anybody here. Maybe I'm just weird. :)

The craziest dream I ever had was that I was a kid again, and back in my parent's house. I was in the hallway and I felt an evil presence behind me. The walls had swirly looking designs all over them and I ran into my parents bedroom because I was scarde, right....It gets weirder...

So I go to my parents room, and my parent's were dead in there bed. Not only were they dead, but they were skeletons, heh. So the presence is going to get me so I open my parent's closet and the walls in the closet are made of chocolate ice-cream and I start digging myself thru it. Thats where it always ended, as this was a recurring nightmare...

Anyways, I'm honored that I'm dreamt about, even if I'm actually Las and I did some horrible thing....

Truthfully your dream was probably a premonition, as I currently am finishing plans to create a machine that will allow me to switch my body with Las Naranjas....

My weirdest dream was probably that a small passage in my village that leads onto Cherry Orchard (local park type place) turned into a way into a land made out of lego, and I went there with my Grandad. Odd. This was like, six years ago though.

I rarely remember my dreams...

But once, my sister dreamt she was being chased by a giant jelly. It probably didn't help that I was wobbling a bit of perspex early that morning.

I rarely ever have nightmares, and its not very often that I have dreams that I remember. Sometimes I had nightmares where there was nothing at all to scare me but I was still terrified. One of my weirdest nightmares was flying through a castle being chased by a wizard guy and chasing a witch while throwing table knives at her. Then I was suddenly outside, in my neighbourhood, flying while drinking chimpanzee milk out of a box, while the wizard who was chasing me was riding a bicycle under me, giving evil looks towards me.
Once in a while I have a dream, and then a long time later something is happening in real life, that is the same as the dream, and I can recall whats going to happen next a moment before it actually happens.
Okay... you can now all comment how incredibly crazy I am.

Post by: Czar on Sun 15/02/2004 22:08:13
babloyi, you too?
and that happens more often to me lately....

Anyway i had this lucid/vivid/too realistic dream recently, but it was all mixing and confusing at the end, like a game with bugs. Maybe a game could be done with this material, a work of art!

So we( me and my friends and later some of them vanish) are in this big place in a 1890 buildings. Anyway, we're in this big building and i was interrogated, I guess, and then i got  away and then we wanted to blow the place up and escape, and accidentaly in that apartment was a World war II cannon (maybe thats cuz i was playin COD atm) nad i was firing, everything went well, but when i had put the last grenade in it slipped so we all looked at eachother and started running towards the balcony, wich was really wide. Suddenly a river was under, but more of a city river, if you know what i mean. So we were in this situation that the condo (sp) would explode, and we were all leaning on this wire fence, and suddenly the fence started to bend and we were like 180 degrees with the floor, and it felt so real. The next thing I know the 5-6 of us started to fall down in the river. It was kind of yellow. There was the splash, and i could see my body jumping in the river.

I was still in the river, as were the others. I tried to open my eyes, but because of the impact I could open just half of my left or right eye, and my coordination was disbalanced, I wanted to see if someone was still stuck in the water after the fall, but i was still all disbalanced and then i saw one of my friends dragging another friend who lost his concious, on the shore.

There we were. All soaking wet. We went left, on some kind of asphalted road, which I think was all fragments of my memory, and then we went in front of a castle/military/Austric 1800/ building, i dontknow, and we were like all talking there. Then a few of my friends and I had to go to the bathroom or wathever, so we went left, on the few stairs next to this little house, which looked more like a small powerstation, and THAT is the moment when i saw THEM! I saw a few military soldiers, and I knew that wasnt good. Fortunately i saw them before they noticed me and my friends. But as we have the unluck in the luck, my friends didnt notice them and they just started to go forward, I tried to tell them, believe me, but they just couldnt hear me. I started running towards the others, thats when this red alarm went off, and I (me who dreamt it all freshly) felt all the adrenaline rush ( like when you dream that you bump into something, and then wake up all adrenalined, I didn't wake up, almost as I had control of the dream) and told the others about the soldiers, we went on the corner of the building, and there was this old railway ending, and there were this stairs....

And it gets more and more confusing later... So i better stop now.
Anyway, dreams can be pretty confusing and VIVID.

Also: Was I in the courtroom too!?

I have the weirdestest of dreams.

Once I dreamt that Tim Schafer was in our school gymnasium, and he looked sorta phased out. He was our basketball coach I think, and we'd just lost our basketball match against the Waterford Senior A's.

Another time I dreamt that Bill Gates gave me a 100 dollar note while dressed in polka dot underwear.

And I had this dream that I was on the way to San Francisco and I missed the plane, so I'm hanging on to the door as it's hurtling down the runway and I'm checking my watch in the most casual manner possible, and then it stops and they're all like, "This plane will leave in ten minutes!" and I'm all, "Oh, a bit early then." And I went off to buy a magazine and then I forgot I was supposed to be going to san francisco and I went home and then later I realized I'd missed my plane and that was the last plane going to San Francisco ever.

Oh, gods.

P.S. The magazine I bought was a 1992 issue of PC Gamer, back when it was good, and also it was a really sunny day.

I am ALWAYS having dreams about missing trains, buses, planes, etc. but then its something I tend to worry abotu a lot in real life...

When I was a teenager I dreamed a few times that the cast of Sesame Street were chasing me and wanted me to wear a dress and I had to climb this Christmas tree to escpae but it bent over so I was nearly touching the ground...

The other night I dreamt that there was this guy with flames coming out of his eyes, like someone had stuck a flamethrower thrugh the back of his head! Eeek!

but my wife has these really cool dreams that could all be made into great movies... shame that we don't write them down and sell them as screenplays!

I had a dream once where the forums were actually one big building, with newbies on the ground floor, and as you went up the floors were the more well-known members.

Anyway, one day CJ invited me up to the top floor to chat with the others, so I hopped in the elevator and went up.

Imagine my horror to find CJ, m0ds & Mr Colossal all waiting to kill me up there! CJ had these weird evil eyes & they were all holding guns!

I remember running away from them, along with some other members, before I woke up.

It was really strange...

The dreams I have never make sense.  They are just so inane and stupid... I can't even find the words to describe it.

Here's an example of how nonsensical my dreams can be: when I go to sleep at night, I sometimes fall asleep with the TV on, so I can hear what's being said on the tv in my dream.  The dream I'm having is about someone being on trial for a heinous crime.  Imagine being on trial for murder, you're on the stand, and the prosecution is grilling you like a cheese sandwich... then all of the sudden they start talking about the side effects of Advair... then they start talking about John Kerry running in the primary elections.  You ask yourself, WTF does that have to do with why I'm on trial?  Then, the prosecution starts giving the weather report to you... then you wake up.  You look over at the TV and see the weather man giving the local forecast.

It's crazy.

My mom even has a few of those "What do your dreams mean?" books.  I've read them, and some of those meanings are pretty stupid... I once had a dream that I was at school, and I don't remember how, but I lost my clothes.  So here I was hiding in the janitor's closet in my birthday suit.  Well, when I woke up, I looked up what that meant, apparently it meant that I should be careful about what my sexual impulses make me do... only at the time, I was 11.

Raggit,

Man, I had the same dream! Weird!  From what I can remember,  Squinky was charged with "Promissing to finish Fry-2 and not working on it".  We found him guilty and banned him from wearing clothes.   He started looking like Trap after he took off his clothes.   Then Squinky heard about all those same sex marriages in San Francisco and rushed down there to marry himself.   When he saw Yufster hanging on the outside of a 747 he changed his mind and went back to living happily ever after in Idaho.

Man what a strange dream you had Raggit.   I hope Squinky doesn't get offfended. ;D

Woooah, last night I dreamt that the sea was in our back garden, and that it was really awesome, and then the tide went out and it was just like one enormous puddle in our garden, and then it sucked, and the neighbours tide didn't go out, ohhh no... and their water was all warm and clear.

Which is sort of odd because, I don't have a neighbour.

And then my dad built this thing to stop us from going too far out into the water and I just jumped over it because he's some sort of control freak.

I felt like pyschoanalyzing your dream...

Sea
Waters generally symbolize the emotions and the unconscious. They could also represent the collective unconscious or your soul experiences. All dream interpretations depend on the individuals personal belief system and life experiences.
Tides
Tidal waves or tsunamis suggest that you may be in a period of emotional upheaval. Anxiety, stress, and unconscious materials may be coming to the surface and affecting your daily moods. Giant tidal waves from your dream may be symbolic of current emotional unhappiness and psychological stress that may be threatening to destroy or uproot you. The outcome of this dream could reveal to you how much strength you have to "ride out" this storm. If you are not consumed, or you survived the tidal waves of your dream, be assured that you will survive the challenges of life and living.

My conclusion is that you have issues....and somehow end up in way too many dreams with harems...heh

I have really weird dreams when I'm sleeping away from home.

When I went camping one time, I dreamt that my parents were arguing in high pitched squeaky voices, and then it started to rain so I used an enormous umbrella, and I could hear the rain drops hitting the umbrella.  I woke up to find that it wasn't my parents argueing, but a bunch of red squirells in the trees over my campsite, chattering away at eachother and dropping pine cones on the tent I was sleeping in.

Another time, I was at a hotel with my parents and my sister.  I dreamt that I was trying to conduct a brass band, but the tuba player kept on playing out of turn, making a horrible rumbling noise.  Waking up, it turns out my dad was just snoring.

My first night at university, I dreamt that everyone on my floor had turned into Weebl and Bob type things, only without the speech bubbles.I couldn't understand a word anybody was saying.

Then I woke up, and I'm sad that I can't remember the name of the song. It was among the best ones I've ever heard in my life. Woa-ah, did I ever tell you about this one dream I had...

Okay, at the time I'd started taking the train to school every day. If I miss the train, that's it; I'm stuck hundreds of miles away from home and the next train isn't until late that night. So I started getting a lot of bad dreams about missing the train.

This one dream I had, school was over and it was dark already because it's winter. I waited for a friend to get her books and stuff before we set off to the train station, but I could only walk that annoying DREAM walk, where it feels like you're trying to push through water. When I eventually got to the station the train had pulled out. So I walked back down to wait in my school for the next train. I forget what happened then, I think my mother came on the next train, and we were both walking up to catch the train back to waterford when I noticed a huge building I'd never seen before. This big flashing Logo said, "SIERRA", and then this man walked past and asked me a question in french. I responded in perfect french, and I think he said that they were looking for people in Sierra. I applied for a job (seemingly forgetting that my mother was there and we had to catch a train, WAY to get sidetracked!) and was sitting waiting for the interviewer.

So I started messing around on this laptop, and the interviewer was on AIM, and I'm all like, "Oh, er, hi!" and he's all, "Okay, I'll be in in a minut to interview you, just gotta sort this paperwork" or something, and I'm all, "Okay." so then he walks in and it's Tim Schafer, working for Sierra, interviewing people for jobs.

I think I woke up at that point. Analyse that.

And while you're analysing it, bear in mind I despise Sierra, and I have no idea what my mother was doing at my school but it seemed normal, and Tim Schafer working for Sierra?! Was this some sort of nightmare?!

Has anybody ever gained the ability to control your dream? You can actually become concious inside of a dream. I can do this sometimes. I used to be able to do it all the time, to the extent that one day I 'woke up' inside my dream and told myself, "Okay, you're going to try sleepwalking. First, move your arm!" and after a couple of minutes that felt like I was trying to shove a ton weight, I woke up after slapping myself on the face.

Dreams are fun!

I had a dream last night that i had gotten back together with my ex-girlfriend.  She was the love of my life and broke my heart a while back.  Well, in my dream, we were getting along great and i had changed everything that was wrong that she didn't like about me.  But at the end of my dream, she ended up having sex with my sister and cheating on me.

My sister and my ex-girlfriend are not lesbo's. So i am trying to find out what this dream could mean.

This dream probably means something i never want to know. But i woke up feeling really weird about it.

Lucid dreams, yes. I used to have lots of those when I was younger, but then I just stopped having them, unfortunately. It wasn't until a few months ago that I finally had one again. The dream itself wasn't so awesome, but the way I realized it was a dream was so silly that it's borderline... well... awesome:

I dreamt that I was at a fancy dinner party at school. There were lots of tables with white cloths,  and everybody was wearing fancy clothing. As I was sitting there at a table, a band started playing on a stage at the end of the room. Then, I thought out loud ty myself this magical line of thought (yes, really, I did think this):
"Hmm. The sound quality is pretty good considering this is all a dream. Hey... what did I just say?"

Then I tried flying. It worked.
Thats the ultimate test if you're not sure if you're dreaming or not. Try to fly. In the dream I just stood up, and sort of started to levitate above the tables. It was fun.

yeah, lucid dreams are teh coolest.
I was really in to them for a bout a year, but now I'm to lazy to try having them.  I've still got the Lucid Dreaming guide (http://www.users.bigpond.net.au/theclampdown/WintermuteStudios/MainDream.htm) I wrote up on my site though.

Actually I had a short lucid dream this morning, but it wasn't very exciting. I didnt even fly.  The best ones are when I'm flying around and kickin' ass and freaking out everyone in my dream by telling them they're not real.

The best Lucid dream I've had recently was when I was being stalked by a scary serial killer type guy, full nightmareish stuff, untill I  realised I was dreaming.  So I just picked up a car, and threw it at him, that was pretty funny.  heh heh...  I guess you had to be there. ;)

You and your stupid lucid dreams. I usually just have mundane dreams where I use up the last of my toothbrush or something inane like that then end up buying a new tube the next day all confused because the old tube is half full.

Bah!

Last night I had the worst night of my life...

Do you know how it is when you go to bed and try to get some sleep. Then you start thinking about something completely scary or horrible, and can't stop. I tried to stop thinking about ghosts, aliens, Urban legends and whatnot. I couldn't. Everytime i thought about something else (forced myself),  it would get worse. when I tried to think about a cat, The dead girl comes running. While the sound from the scaryshit topic comes up. You know... When you clicked the "This" link. Man, it was awful.

About the lucid dreams.
I've had 2 lucid dreams in my life so far.
1.
I was walking around my yard (I was very young when I had this dream) and suddenly my dad's going to kill me. So I hide on a pile of sand, about 1 meter high. He couldn't see me. Then he drove around the yard with his tractor, which was also a tank. That's when I realized I was dreaming. I kinda just... lifted my legs up in the air and started to paddle into the air.

2.
I was standing on my yard when I noticed something strange. In the middle of the yard there's an old wooden... What do you call these old wooden shitters? Outhouse? Anyways, I walked over to the outhouse and started to examine it, from the outside. Suddenly, MONKEYS started shooting laser beams at me from their hovertanks in the forest. They never hit. I went in to the shitter and found a strange weapon, made completely out of light. It was... lol... a Lensflaearegun!11! With the gun steadily in my hands I walked out of the old wooden shitter. I realized:
"-Hey, I'm dreaming!"
And then I shot myself, trying to find a better dream WITHOUT tanks

I'm starting to wonder. What shit was I on in elementary school?

I had an incredibly weird and memorable dream yesterday. I wrote it down the moment I woke up, so I can kind of remember it. Me and my partner were in some kind of bomb squad unit, and had got to some building (that looked vaguely like my college), and had to disable- and get ready for the ultimate weirdness-SNOTBALL BOMBS! ???. We had to blow on them or something until they disappeared.  Then someone started tossing them at us from over a wall. We ran to the other side to find out who it was, but all we found was a pizza box with some pills and a few slices.
Sometimes I realise in my dreams that it is only a dream, and then I try to experiment. I had an ice cream in one dream, and I thought that if this is a dream, I would not be able to taste it. However, when I was about to lick it, it leaned forward and licked me! And no...I did not wake up to find my dog slobbering me ::) . Another time my legs were glued to a train track, and I realised it was a dream, so I stuck my hands in my pocket and found a toffee.... I started to suck it, but I woke up before I could taste it.
Flying is fun in dreams! Even in dreams though, I understand that flying is not possible. I just realise that I can rise up and swoop around. Then I go around some familiar area, mocking others at how stupid they are that they don't get that they can do this too. It is so vivid that I even try it in real life...doesn't work though :(

QuoteThe first couple of LD's are usually pretty short (eg:”oh wow! I'm dreaming!” Followed closely by “oh damn, I just woke up.”)

LOL!!!

A couple of things;

Sometimes, when I'm taking the train back home, it's very quiet and warm and dark on the train (Especially because it's winter and dark outside), and so I'll find it hard to stay awake when trying to work on a project or homework or study or whatever. Because I'm telling myself not to fall asleep, my brain starts trying to trick me or something, by filling my head with 'false reality'; ie I'll start to have some sort of a mini dream that I'm doing my homework, and the only reason I'll realize it's only a dream is when my pen starts flying or something, and then I'll jerk back to awakeness and realize I've scribbled all over my project work.

I used to be a lucid dream goddamn master, I swear to god. I had my own little world. It was so cool. I'm gonna start again, only this time, my own little world is gonna be in san francisco.

I'd love to know more about dreams. And especially recurring ones. I used to dream about my house, except it was completely different. It was always at nighttime, and I never went IN to the house. There was always a parking meter in the yard, but I don't know what was behind me because I never looked. There were bushes, and if you walked through the bushes you followed a pebble path down to a pebble beach. This scene, I know, it a combination of a place I visited as a little girl and my home today. But the relevance of the two together? Maybe I'm thinkin' I wanna go back to being a little girl or something, because never ONCE did the thought occur to me to go in to my (present) house. In fact, it didn't even look like you COULD get in to it if you TRIED.

The pebble beach scene is from when I was about 5 years old and lived in London. Our dad had bought a new car, and he'd gone to some sale halfway across the country for it so when he got back it was really late. He woke us up and we all got into this (white) car and drove to an arcade, and then stopped at Little Chef (Hey, I work there now!), and then it was about midnight when we stopped at a pebble beach, the exact one from my dream. We must have drove pretty damn far considering I lived in London. And then I think we went to an airport to see the planes come in, but that could have been another night.

Hmm, hmmmm hmmmmm?

I love dreams. This thread is gonna kick ass. I've been reading everybody elses dreams and trying to imagine them, too.

I think something like that occured to me yesterday...

So.. when on a bus, I suddenly noticed the bus had filled so almost all the seats were taken, execpt the ones in the four seat group I was in... so, on a stop, three girls get on the bus, and they sit on the seat group I'm in. They are talking in english, or something similiar to it. Then, one of them, who's sitting opposite to me, is looking out of the window and saying nothing. I get this feeling I have seen her before. I start thinking where, but cannot remember. Then, one of the other girls clearly call her something like "Rusalka" or something... a name I don't recall ever hearing. (It might be my memory isn't working very well atm.) Then it just clicks. In the dream, I remembered where I had seen her... then I woke up, and noticed the bus was definately not full, and the stop I was about to get off was just coming, so I hurried to press the stop button......

Late last night, right before going to sleep, I was talking to remixor about his Double Fine escapades, and I had a dream where I went to Double Fine and met Tim Schafer. It was a building full of buildings and cubicles, which looked a lot like a place I worked for this summer, and he was wearing some sort of Jesus-like robes, more eastern/indian-like and he was saying things, and it was hilarious. I asked him some questions, which I don't remember the answer to, and then I left. I remember I wanted to go into this secret room, but they didn't let me. They were building a super secret level for Psychonauts or something!

Then, I woke up and thought, "Oh no! It was all a dream!". It felt pretty vivid. :o

My dreams are usually pretty weird, but cool, and vaguely logical. Quite often I use them as ideas for stories.I usually don't feel emotions in them either, so scary dreams rarely scare me - I can be objective.

My worst nightmare; just in case you're squeamish:

Spoiler
Anyway, my most horrible nightmare was that I'd got some horrible disease/virus that was killing me, and then my eyes sort of oozed out of their sockets, but I could still see. The worst part was I could feel everything. My own eyeballs oozing down my cheeks. The rather extreme panic I was feeling. I woke up whimpering.

Naturally I didn't wear my contact lenses for a week. And stopped watching gory movies, and reading horror novels for several months.

but sometimes I wake up when my body is still sleeping - usually after lucid dreaming (which dosn't happen often) - and I flip out coz I cant move Ã, . .I don't flip out as much any more and it can be kinda fun - hasn't happened in months tho.

Meh.
That happens to me too.
But then in my case I still flip out, and sometimes it gets a little painful, my eyes are still in REM, but I'm awake and I try to open them, and they're still moving and stuff.
The horror.

Exorcisteryness0rz...

Anyway, lately, as I've been going to bed earlier then usually, I've had dreams like every third night... not long, most of them, but one nice dream I remember was really bizarre, you ever been in a bit expohall type building with stuffed supports and indoor walls and stuff, where you go to meet other people involved in a card collecting game, a game you don't know how to play, or anything about the cards or anything, you just have a deck of them, and it works as a flashligth, like the deck of cards would be a box with a light inside, whcih then comes out throught the center square of the undermost card (the only card the face of which you can see)?

Yeah... reaaly bizarre dreams, weirder then before, and more then before... no lucidy yet, though, but I'm aiming at it.

::)

Damn to the depths who ever thought of resurructing this thead :P

THREAD DUG FROM ITS GRAVE! IT'S ALIVE!!!

Um, anyway, I had this weird dream, or two, and it relates to AGS:

So, somehow I ended up going to Sweden and I was hanging out with none other than Mr. Petter "Andail" himself. We went up this cliff, which looked more like a Jeep comercial, and we traded a tiny car for this huge truck, and it was a Volvo, I think, but it was the Hummer of Volvos. We drive around because Andail is my tour guide around Sweden and I'm completely impressed taking pictures of everything while Andail is not impressed at all. We some how end up walking to this place where they sell counterfeit stuff like shirts and whatnot; apparently Andail knew like the big boss. As we were leaving there was some kind of party along the way, and then some goons start chasing Andail, but by that time it's no longer Andail but some guy I was hanging out with yesterday. I realized that I left my jacket behind so I have two options: 1) Go get my jacket. 2) Fight. While thinking about this, my friend is running towards me, and one of the goons tries to beat me up, but I end up pulling a judo move and he's on the ground...

Then, I woke up.

And I remembered that I had ordered an XBOX 360. I traded in my xbox for it, and I got the new one for $100. It was under my bed like a Christmas gift, and I wanted to hook it up online and tell everyone about it, but I couldn't find the controllers. So I looked around and found this plastic bag with some pieces inside and realized that I had to assemble the controller! I open the bag, and out comes a piece of paper that read: "In order to deliver you more than one controller we have reduced the size of our controllers". So, out of the bag came three controllers. One is like this weird thing that looked like joystick, the second one is a "Natural" (like designed for your hand) version of the controller. The third is the normal controller, but it is tiny! like the size of half of your thumb. And the thing actually works! It's hard to press the buttons, but hey. Also, the xbox comes with a blender to attach to the xbox, but a blender designed for college students with extra slots to make Margaritas...

Then I really woke up, and I realized that I might be late for work.
