Finally an extensive AGS survey!
http://spreadsheets.google.com/viewform?formkey=dEtQTWxCYXpFaTZQSXl6V1FqbEVBanc6MA
Enjoy!
PS:
I will publish the results once 100 or so people have responded.
Nice one Andail!
edit: but where the hell do I find the spreadsheet with the answers?

It's a survey, not a test, bici, no need for cheating ;D
Great one Andail. When the results are published, please make a sheet/word/ecc, containing all the answers to question 17. I think it'll be totally interesting.
Cool, I didn't know gDocs got this far yet. I hope I won't miss the results ;)
Ditto Dualnames, I would like to see the results, too! Heck, I even signed myself on the bottom there.
Great stuff Andail!
I took it! Excited to see the results!
Everyone should check out gDocs, it's been improving month-by-month...
Done.
Done. Although for one of the answers I may have lied, but it is only because recently I've not had the chance to play as many AGS games as I would like to, or have done so in the past.
Some of the bullet points didn't exactly fit with how I'd answer but I tried to answer as close to reality as possible.

Though for me it seems to be down. I can't log in :( Earlier today I could. Anyway, filled in the survey.
I've also filled in the survey.
"
Filled out the survey. Nice range of questions. However, with a few of them it was hard to narrow it down to just one answer. Looking forward to seeing the results.

Done. 6 and 7 were the main ones I wasn't sure about because I'm fine with either plot or puzzles being rubbish as long as the other's really good. Results should be interesting.

Do we have that many active users? =P
Active forum users, yes. Active forum users that vote, if AGS awards are to be trusted, we don't, or we barely have.
I did the survey, just like I did for the AGS awards like I do every year.

I concur with Ben, like the question about art; I felt as though I was limited to being shallow and only appreciating the visuals, or being ungrateful as though I didn't appreciate them at all.
The Genre question was a little weird for me. I would've appreciated an option to show that I'll play any genre, and enjoy it regardless/thanks to whatever genre it is, if it's done well :P
Did it anyway :)
Allrightie, guess I can reveal the answers so far (but please keep responding), I think many answers are quite unexpected, but judge for yourselves.
Sorry, still trying to sort things out. This is overly complicated for some reason.
Patience!
Yay, it works! Excellent, thanks!
LOL at answers. Now someone will have to make a multiplayer/co-op romance game with a sex scene preferably starring naked Andail.
Edit: Can't figure out where the pie charts are - so not sure they work
Please confirm if you're able to view the pie charts...they're really what makes this worth the hassle...
Makes very intersting reading so far, good job Andail. :)
EDIT: The Formular (apologies for lazyness) part is greyed out for me unless i'm looking at the wrong bit...
Yeah, it's greyed out. Do we have to be logged in or something?
Ok, un-publishing for some minutes and trying to find out how to publish the finished charts.
I participated, although additional answer alternatives would have been nice in a few cases.
No pie charts for me either.
Ok, I'm at a loss here, can someone who's more computer savvy try and create a similar document and have the results shareable?
There is a very nice "results" page with nifty pie charts, but for some weird reason I can never share or link to that particular page, I can only share the raw excel sheet.
Why not take a screencap of the piecharts and ost them here?
Ok, I've read up on several sites and apparently google docs don't allow users to share a summary of the results yet.
Update:
This is the best solution so far, although it's crap compared to just letting google docs publish the summary.
Here's a doc with pie charts and everything:
http://esseb.com/andail/agschart.doc
I filled it out, actually quite informing, I 'score' completely mediocre. ;)
I liked the fact that people have trouble drawing, and most AGS people declare they draw ;D
It's quite explained if you look it closely though. Anyway, really really nice results there!
Where are the answers to question 17?
One thing I find interesting is that alot of people said they didnt find dialogue writing to be the most difficult part.
But i think dialogue is practically always the weakest point of AGS games (which a few notable exceptions, Blackwell, Trilby, Downfall (to some degree))
Turns out I´m a fairly average AGSer. Wooh!
I guess the dialogue thing is that very few people see the need to expand on that. Most people don´t expect more than "It is a door" "It is a key" "I will give you the key if you buy me get me a sandwich", and when they get more, it is a treat- considered something extra.
That's because everybody can write and make it look like dialogs. If I script some nonsense, the game won't work. If I write up some flimsy lines for my shallow characters, there is no debugger to stop me.
On another note: Also completed the survey and liked Science Fiction the most this time!

The reason why dialog can be hard for me is that I'm not a native English speaker. Otherwise it's not so bad. But I can't do music to save my life, so I chose that option. Of course I'm also weak when it comes to drawing, not that I let that stop me. ;D
All in all I'm also an average AGSer.
I'm curious who is that one person that plays AGS games everyday. Is that you, Dual?

HEY! But no. I just voted for the second option on that question.

I didn't even notice that! LOL!

More like it's the only true dedicated AGSer.
I bet it's c.leksutin...
