Alright, a friend of mine was looking for a game yesterday, a game he used to play when he was a kid, and since you guys are pro at finding the titles of old games people are looking for, I figured this was the perfect place to ask.
According to my friend, the game was a 2D platforming game, released between 1990 and 2000, on PC, where you could run, jump, shoot, morph into a ball and where you could fire a grappling hook on ceilings/walls to swing around from platform to platform. And no, it's not Super Metroid.
Turrican II.
Your post made me remember Strider Returns, a game i had long forgotten about. Nostalgia five!
Yep, sounds a lot like Turrican or Turrican II.

Since only II was released for DOS, I'd say it's probably that one.
Thanks for the replies, I showed him vids of Turrican II but he says it's not that.
Apparently I misunderstood his description of the gameplay the first time around. According to him, you played as a ball, on the press of a button, a grappling hook was shot on ceilings so you could swing over gaps, on the press of another button the ball would turn into a robot that could fire at enemies, but not jump.
The hunt is still on!
it king of sounds like Super Putty or Super Putty Squad on the SNES. Just without the shooting and turning into a robot.
Anyone knows this game? It`s in spanish, but maybe you recognize it. I think is AGS made.
