I don't know if you guys have heard about this or not because it's fairly new, but brace yourself for some crazy shit.
The Warner Brothers decided to redesign the Looney Toons to fit in with today's hip anime generation.
Click here to view the preview (http://www.aintitcool.com/downloads/LoonaticsPreview.mov). (.mov, 8mb)
In short:
QuoteBuzz: Team leader with laser and martial arts expertise
Duck: Weapons expert with built-in sonar
Roadster: Super speed
Spaz: Team muscle with jaws of steel
Lexi: Disguise expert with super hearing
Slick: Vehicles and surveillance; regeneration abilities
This is utterly ridiculous, much emphasized by this parody flash movie (http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/223809) (not worksafe).

hmm... (video link doesnt work btw)
Please, oh please tell me this isn't real.
oh dear god, this looks truly appalling. how are they allowed to do this? I should be in charge, then there would be no mistakes like these. ONLY RERUNS!
To be honest, i don't like the new look at all. Some things in life don't need changing and it definitely should not be the Looney Toons.
Excuse me while i go off into the corner to cry. :(

I'd actually seen something about this before, but assumed it was some sort of horrible joke.
Every forum I visit has a thread about this.
If only the guys at Warner Brothers had marketed it as a 'spin-off' rather than a remake...we wouldn't have any of this controversy...
It's not really that bad what they're doing. Space Jam is worse along with whatever that new cartoon was with Brendan Frasier...
Just don't watch it.
One good thing about this is the awesomeness of the parody.
Towards the end I had tears in my eyes.

Judging from the pic Chicky posted, it doesn't look animeish at all, just weird.
I think it's pretty brave - and it's a spin-off, isn't it? Not a replacement.
I think it'll succeed, though. It's a well-aimed thing, children will love it. As to whether it's good or not... well. We'll have to wait (possibly) and see.
Following Yufster's trendy "make-up-a-dialog-of-how-the-hell-they-come-up-with-this-stuff":
(Er. Warning, explicit language)
Spoiler
Exec: "So kids, do you want bugs bunny to look tough?"
Kids:" YAAAAAAYYYYYYY"
Exec: "Do you want him to look EXTREME???"
Kids: "YAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYy!!!!"
Exec: "DO YOU WANT HIM TO LOOK AS THOUGH HE HAS CRAWLED FROM THE 5TH CIRCLE OF HELL TO REND YOUR SOULS FROM YOUR BODY WITH HIS MIGHTY CLASP OF THE DARK LORD SATAN?!?!?!?!?!?!?"
Kids: ???
Exec: "ROCK THE FUCK ON!!!! LOONATICS 20X6 IN YOUR FACE BITCHES!!!!!!!!!"
Admittedly stolen from another forum.
It's a good thing that it's a spin-off, it's a bad thing that it has been created.
did people want an updated bugz? I would rather have a 5th series of family guy than this
Yes, I've seen this before. Just let them destroy looney toons, the MAN has commericialized everything nowdays so I've just stopped caring.

You make it sound like that's a
bad thing...
The thing is, though I doubt it will be, what if the cartoon ended up being okay? I remember thinking that THESE ideas were crazy at first too, but they all ended up being alright:
-Tiny Toon Adventures
-Batman Beyond
-Muppet Babies (okay, so I was a little kid, k?)
Still, I think that the "revamping" of this characters is just awful. But, as already stated, no way can it be worse than "Space Jam" or "Back in Action" or whatever it was called (I once had a roommate who used to think that Space Jam was great... :'( ).
Looks like a leaked April Fools Day joke to me.... Notice the tracking lines at the top of the video...
Or it could be a really bad spinoff.
Oh this is real, alright. There's been press releases and everything.
Edited
Edit: Oh dear.
Someone made a poochy reference in the elysiun forums too. Nice anim.
I have no problems with this at all. For one, I'll probably never see it, and if I do see it, then it's probably because it's been popular enough to move to a time slot that allows me to watch it. I'd also like to say, this in no way ruins Looney Tunes in my eye. The classic's will still remain classics.
It's better that they create "new" characters than mess with the classics and hip them up, like in Space Jam, as has been already mentioned. If it's bad, than it's bad. I'm sure we'll all survive. I don't feel that it makes Looney Tunes any less than what it is. This is something new. And bravo for them for having enough balls to put this out. It'll be a nice conversation piece.

DG: That gave me my great "Laugh of the Day" ^_^ Thankyou ever so much.
It's sad that this is true. I heard about it a few months back on a morning rock station talk show. The way they explained it made me not want to see what the new characters looked like. It's a terrible thing they have done to Bugs...
Babs is still pretty hot though.
Ok, first of all, it is a spinoff. Its not Bugs, its Buzz.. .and the rest are "descendents" of the today looney tunes. They are crime fighters in the year... okay, i dont remember, but i do know its rediculously far away. even further than duck dodgers (24 1/2 centruy, if i recall correctly)
It may be alright, but just know that its not a replacement for Looney Tunes. Just like Robin on Teen Titans. The show is alright, but I hate when they morph into anime. I don't mind anime, i watch it regularly. I just didn't want to see them combined in this regaurd.
They are just trying to compete with Teen Titans. But I did see a news broadcast in my area take a pic of bugs and show it to a kid, and he was like "why is he angry? i dont like the new bugs."

Inspired.
Make it yourself?
No. I found it in another forum. But, ironically, the creator was someone I and many people here knew. Hint: Check the URL.
I think someone's pissed at you, DG.
Hey, if The Fonz and that lady with the jar in herself are in the new Looney Toons, I'm all for it. :)

Hey, this
is the WB we're talking about, of course it won't be okay. Ever since they cancelled Angel, that network hasn't produced a decent minute of good quality televion. Did anyone see "The Help"? Not awesome.
Anyways, I feel gyped by the WB. I donated a pint of blood twice to save Angel (It didn't work >:(), and I get this freaky Looney Tunes show instead. Grr Argh!
Bugs heritage is so much greater than this afterall...

Why do they all look exactly the same (but with different colours)?
dont you know anything about fighting crime? you MUST look good while doing it.

That is a funny freaking cartoon.
I don't care. It was laughin' like hell.

NOOOOOO!
HOW COULD THEY! I HATE IT!
Looney Toones was/ still is one of my faworite cartoons. Damn you WB.
Is this an oficial prewiew? Besouse it looks alot like a simple flash animation. Aspacialy when Buzz sais What's up doc. Man his mouth has only 3 frames or something. At least they could hawe put some efort in to the show.
Well, I'm not going to let this spoil the old looney tunes.
I'm angry though because this thread has reminded me of GADGET BOY!
Go-go-gadget-boy-killing-um-thing...
And now I've remembered the inspector gadget movie. I can't believe they swapped a romatic lead Matthew Broderick for a mysteriously unmarried uncle who always wears a trenchcoat...
I'm sorry if this seems off topic, but things I hate about Inspector Gadget spin-offs is the topic that I'm generally on in my life.
I don't think they opted not to have Matthew Broderick again, I think he refused to do it...
I actually like the new character's look... But please, don't get me wrong. I absolutely hate the fact they took Looney Toons and changed it like that. If this was something completely new, things would be better. But I bet it's gonna end up crap anyways.
These looney toons remind me of what on Itchy and Scratchy tried to do with Poochie the dog...
Also, a travesty called Shadow the Hedgehog (http://www.gamespot.com/ps2/action/shadowthehedgehog/index.html?q=shadow+the+hedgehog). What is the deal? I want Sonic the Hedgehog, not a goth, mechanical version of him that can also (get this) shoot guns.
Dr Robotic= Dr Egg :'(

Sorry, my ramblings were unclear. I prefer the wierd unmarried uncle-gadget from the cartoon to pretty-boy Broderick in the film. I didn't know they'd made a sequel, curse them.

isn't it doctor robotnik? i hated what they did to sonic. the cartoons were simply abysmal.
