This is quite an interesting read! Basically a chap, who is paralysed, is now able to move a mouse cursor, open his email AND play Monkey Island just by thinking. Awesome :)

Welcome to the WORLD OF TOMORROWWWWWWWW!
Seriously, that's -really- interesting.
Cool!! Now i can play games with my mind, and use my hands for other things. :)
That's just incredible. Some day, paralzyed people will have cybernetic limbs and be able to walk and do normal things before they got in accidents.
And that's when EMP really becomes effective.
I'll be more interested when the technology is good enough to try on "normal" non-paralyzed people. We'll just have to be careful not to make terminators.

Well, there will probably be strict laws similar to Asimov's 3 laws of robotics when we start making robots and cyborgs and whatnot.
But this is especially amazing, mainly because a few of my friends are paralzyed.

I beat them with a ba...umm..
I mean, they were born that way....
I'm afraid I was distracted by the 'see also' link titled 'monkey brain operates machine'.
I daren't click in case it's not a mechanical banana picker, or some kind of dung flinging apparatus.
Wasn't there something like this posted on the forums a while back? About brain-powered limbs and moving of mouse with thought?

We already HAVE laws for robotics. I saw it on the Colbert Report... :P
QuoteHe told the BBC's Science in Action programme that although some positive signs had been seen for one patient, the paper showed that the technology did not work in the second, older patient.
Pity they didn't expand on it. I'd really like to know why it didn't.
