According to the ACCC that can be used to cover anything from Camel to Pig to Cow to Sheep, and any flesh bar brain and foetus.
and Only 30% of the filling has to be "meat". But you can tell those ones because they're shit.
Apart from the meat there's often a pseudo meat tofu thingy as a sorta filler, and gravy. If it's more than a plain pie, i.e a cheese and onion pie, and egg kelly, a steak and liver pie, they have additions.

Damn straight. Meat pies are awesome. Especially those mad 'gormet' ones, that are guaranteed 100% steak. With gravy. Steak and bacon is the best pie type.
Pie floaters suck. Whoever came up with that idea was a nutter. Or drunk. I suspect a mixture of the two.

I had a nacho pie once, the most un-godly thing to ever be put on the planet but damn it tasted good. Steak and kidney, steak and onion, steak and cheese (dawt cawm), curried steak, steak and bacon, steak and puppies, steak and steak... "Steak" looks funny if you write it a bunch of times.

Any food is good when drunk, but kebabs are definately the way to go, but as long as you know the shop, some kebab places are terrible, but I know where the best one in Australia is.
As for meat pies, they again can be good or bad depending where you get them, I like sheapards pie.
As for pot pies being the same thing, I have no idea but probably similar.
A meat pie is pastery with meat inside usually served hot, so is that what a pot pie is?
Pot pies from my understanding are made in ceramic baking pots. They're not completely surrounded by pastry, just the top, and they're family sized, not hand held, fast food style.

I saw a thing on tv the other day about an Aussie in Atlanta that opened up a meat pie shop, and it's really popular, they also sell other aussie tucker like Lamingtons. And it was quite a new thing to the public there.
I like lamingtons, but only if they got that little bit of jam. i hate those places that sell those crappy lamingtons. The best place for kebabs is on sydeny rd coburg melbourn, its the lebonsese getto

meat pies always scared me cause they were orangey yellow and had meat in them... there was a place near my apartment in the city that sold all this jamaican food, i really shoulda tried it out it was called "Patty King" or something and they specialized in meat pies
When I had the dreadies I went to about half a dozen different Kebab places and the people who served me never failed to compliment me.
Maybe Lebs are all Rastas deep down, despite havings Wars with Zion.
I make really tasty meat pies. I think one of the absolute highlights in Warzaw last January was when I made one for Goldmund and the sisters.
That was possibly the only thing they'll remember me for.

The best meat pie i've ever eaten are the ones that they have at the footy... mmmmmmm... they are brilliant!
In my opinion, the best kebab shop i've been to, is the one in Penrith, just around the corner from Spotlight. But what do I know, it was the night of State of Origin 2 and I was blind drunk!!!
