Title: There's a fire next to my house... No I'm not worried, why?
Post by: Phemar on Thu 13/01/2005 16:29:31
Right, there's a gigantic fire in the mountain next to my house.

What the hell am I supposed to do about that?

Me too. By coincidence, a pirate CD shop nearby burnt to the ground yesterday. I don't know whether to be happy (for the disappearance of all those CDs) or sad (for all the lost jobs and money and such). Luckily, no one was hurt.
Zor, this is the chance to unleash your true self: ZORMAN. You could (quickly) decide on a costume, some weaponary, and go out and save old ladies in wooden cottages. After all that, you could give a safety message about not playing with matches in a forest.

yikes! You should have said the mountain next to your house was on fire. All I see is a lot of yellow smoke.

I never thought of that, but one of the attendants DID wear an eyepatch. Still, I was referring to the more mundane CD copying type of pirates.

The sun is a fire...

Anyway I couldn't really see the flame as the smoke was so harsh you could hardly see ten feet in front of you. I did manage to snap some flame, but it was really bad.

Our house and car and everything is covered in a lot of ash. A LOT of ash!

Scary stuff, we get range fires out here in idaho every summer, and I used to live down by a river next to some hills. Well I had the pleasure of watching the entire hillsides burn from about a mile away, just across the river.....I didn't sleep at all that night....

Yeh it's morning now, I've been hearing the choppers go back and forth all night. It's getting dangerously close now...

If you want I can give you higher quality versions... (like 1.1 meg each)

Look here:

During Fire:

After Fire:

Amazing... Luckily the fire didn't reach us, but I heard it got some houses close to us.

I mean, what would you do if some guy came and told you had 5 minutes to pack and bugger off before you house goes down?

I'd grab my kitty and hard-drive. And half-life 2, of course.
