This is getting WAY too off-topic

How do you create MP3 music like that found in the Apprentice. I know they didn't get a live band or something, and they used a program. Can someone tell me how to do music like that, or give me a link to a tutorial, or a program or SOMETHING? Sorry if I sound like a n00b.Ã,  ;D

To address your question more directly, there are literally hundreds of programs out there for composing music, and they are typically broken up into categories like:

1.  Chiptune trackers (c-64 style music)  one example is GoatTracker
2.  Videogame trackers, such as Famitracker (famicom/nes)
3.  Traditional MOD/XM/IT/S3M and similar format trackers (Fast Tracker 2, Impulse Tracker, SCREAM Tracker).
4.  Hybrid MOD Trackers, trackers which support VSTi's and effects (SKALE, Renoise, BUZZ)
5.  High quality music sequencing software (Propellerhead's Reason, Steinberg Cubase)

Hopefully this gives you an idea of where to go for the kind of music you want to make, just bear in mind that high end software is typically very expensive, and you can only get the most of it if you have your own rig (keyboards, guitars).  Since you mention Apprentice I would say you're looking for the number 5 range, since I'm pretty sure that Greg uses a high-end sequencer and a midi keyboard with a bunch VSTi's.

Hey, Steel Drummer's image below (there with the yellow evil face) shows my IP, my ISP, my version of windows and IE and says: Your IP is stolen!!! Is it an abuse? Is it a hacking? Is it a bug of this forum? I thought this forum was safe from atacks like this. Hey please AGSers, help!

LOL it's a stupid gif, and only you will see your details about your pc etc, no-one else will, not even him. It's a bit off-putting though, I agree! But I also know those images are completely harmless.

It says I'm using IE5 for a start, which I'm not.

SilverWizard_OTF

Oh... well, nice to hear it thanks!  :o
I got scared because the ISP that was written was the true one. I wonder, how is this happening?

Not quite true. Your IP address, browser, and operating system information is transmitted every time you request data on the internet, so he could know it if he decides to keep the information. Even this forum logs your IP address whenever you post a message. Would it be useful to him? Probably not. Harmless? Sure. But, as the picture makes uncomfortably clear, it does mean you leave a trail whenever you browse the web.

Thanks for the fast replys. I was looking to get a MIDI keyboard in the near future, but was wondering if that might be good for game music. Thanks.

FYI, both Apprentice games' music were sequenced in Cakewalk Pro Audio 9 (old program, but it worked great!). The instruments in Apprentice 2 were all the sounds of my Alesis QS6 (with Classical QCard) synthesizer. It was not until the music for Apprentice 1 Deluxe in which I used lots VSTis and whatnot.

If you're looking for making orchestral music, check out Garritan Personal Orchestra, or Miroslav Philharmonik (Nikolas could recommend some more stuff, he knows more about that then I do). And then for a sequencer I really advise Cakewalk Sonar, even an older version of Sonar off Ebay will do fine.

Or I believe there are some freeware MIDI sequencers out there that can load VSTis (again, someone else probably knows more about this than I do).

That's the most stupid answer i have ever heard. Why? Because... i didn't know my IP adress, since it's random and surely not useful to know it ;)

A, and something else: White Mage<>Christian and Christian<>White Mage. With another symbols, White Mage => NOT Christian and Christian=>NOT White Mage. If you can't understand that, then your mind isn't better than the mind of the cat that you have put as the image of your avatar (ok, that was mostly a joke, no misunderstanding please :)).

Wait, I don't get it. White Magician is a Christian, right?

PS. I find your signatures quite annoying, but don't really care more about it... Just thought I'd let you know.

I am a Wizard bare of wizardry... ;)

Steel Drummer (by the way, your signature indeed is a bit annoying :o ), well i ma not sure if i got what you want to make, but you can try Cubase music program, it is very good and it gives you the option to combine MIDI sounds with WAV music.

I would argue that Cubase is a tad expensive for him... but anyways... his choices... (and his signautre :P)

Steel Drummer

Fine, I'll change the signature.
