Title: Tile Puzzle Game [Version 2 - With new matching game]
Post by: Stupot on Sat 02/11/2013 22:38:04
I've just made a tile puzzle game.
It's basically exactly the same as the coffin puzzle from 7th Guest, but better, because it was done in AGS... by me :D

Now with shiny new "retro" website:

Not a style sheet in sight 8-)

==========================

Update - Now with two exciting and death-defying game modes:

Update - Added sound effects and a few finishing touches. Let me know what you think :-)

This is not very consitent, corner click changes all adjectand squares and diagonally adjectand squares, middle click changes all directly adjectand squares and sides change only above and below squares. Have you implemented it in a way that it is always solvable? I'm always struggeling with always one piece not fitting :P But knowing these rules makes it winnable :)
Ever played technobablon 3 (http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/site/games/game/1418/)? There it is inserted nicely into the flow of the game.

Thanks for trying it. It was fun to do :)

As far as I know it is always solvable, but I've just implemented it exactly how it works in 7th Guest and I haven't come across an unsolvable pattern yet.

I have played TB3, but I don't actually remember this puzzle in it.

I never played 7th guest but tb3. In TB3 the rules to the game were more consistent and it had more tiles iirc thus making it even more frustrating (laugh)

Cheers for trying it Ghosty :-)

It was just a little coding exercise for myself. I had a itch that needed scratching and I didn't want to spend more than a couple of hours on it, making it look all pretty.

I'm sure most people could have got the same result in half the time and far more efficient code, but oh well :-)

I couldn't resist it.

The game now features TWO game modes:  classic 'Red Squares' and new 'Match the Pattern' containing FIVE exciting patterns to recreate.
Do YOU have what it takes?
