- Guitar player from 'extreme' - can't recall his name

The only thing I know this guy from is that "Come and Play" song from Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure.  Is that the same one?

Okay, here they are, in no particular order...

Mark Knopfler
David Gilmour
Syd Barrett
Mike Oldfield
Dickey Betts - Duane Allman duo
Martin Barre
Michael Karoli
Steve Howe
Eric Clapton
Neil Young

Ummm, I probably forgot some of them, but what the hell, I'll edit this post later
None shall pass!

Django, Jimi, and that guy Butcher once told me to get an mp3 off, and who blew my mind so completely that I forgot his name. I believe it was a Stevie.
Those who can, do, and those who can't brag about how they do it at least fifty times a day somewhere on the internet.

hmm don't know man,
Extreme is that band that also made that soft number called - more than words
Extreme do have a song called "Play with me" Pretty good song actually, starts with a classical guitar riff, there are also some kids in it singing - pretty awesome stuff.

Hole hearted is a famous song of extreme too, I didn't play bill and ted's excellent adventure, so I wouldn't know.

Btw, Stevie Ray Vaughn is a great guitar player indeed!

N3T: Yeha, I was thinking of "Play With Me."  It was used in Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure, which is a movie about time traveling slacker teenagers.  To be honest, I thought the kids singing part was kind of lame, but the guitarist doing the classical riff was pretty amazing considering how ridiculously fast it was.

I'll pick some of the ones that haven't been mentioned:

John Squire (Stone Roses) - Listen to the guitar work in the second half of I Am The Resurrection and you'll know what I mean. (Make sure it's the original version).

Peter Buck (REM) - Listen to All The Way to Reno.

Jeff Buckley - And such a voice to match.

Thom Yorke, Johnny Greenwood and Ed O'Brien (Radiohead) -- They switch from time to time, but Airbag has one of the coolest guitar intros I've ever heard. I'm not too sure who does it. But Radiohead are tops all around.

All of Nirvana - Kurt, Krist and Dave all do a damn fine guitar (bass in Kirst's case).

All the biggies are an obvious influence on most people who play guitar so I won't spend the time mentioning them but I will try to point out those who I look up to personally and get overshadowed by HUGE solos and ballads...

Bradley Nowell, Sublime - Brad didn't bring anything new and innovative to the table but he played with heart and soul and you can feel in every song he enjoys doing it.

Mikey Doling/Sonny Mayo, Snot - I can't even find words for these guys. The best hard rock guitarists in a very long time.

Kristofer/Jon,  Refused - I love this whole band...everything about them. I can't even listen to System of a down anymore because Refused was everything Soad is and more times two carry the nine.

Omar, At the drive-in/The mars volta - He has such interesting guitar riffs however he comes up with them I hope he guards them with all the armies of...dark regions.

and that is all I can think of...

Jimi

I think I'm going mad, because when ever Jimi Hendrix is on TV playing something (Ye, I know hes dead. I mean on a video or DVD) I sorta drift off, and can't hear or see stuff around me.

wOoDz

you aint smoking something funny r u? or maybe you got Smell O Vision and its the fumes from the gig ;)

Harvester, you've got a good taste for music, I must say...
but not as good as Mods :)
Way to go, bro'!

Speaking of guitars, have any of you got the latest edition of Guitar Techniques (Number 86 June 2003)? On page 12 in Ask GT, I am there under "Feedback Attack". My letter.
