Title: Tragedy in the world..
Post by: Bulbapuck on Thu 21/01/2010 16:13:04
I'm surprised there isn't a thread for this yet, so I'm starting one.

I've seen some footage from there, here's just one of the many tragic videos.  (http://www.tonightshowwithconanobrien.com/video/clips/conan-sells-the-show-011410/1193189/)

What's going to happen now???

I'm of course talking about "The tonight show with Conan O'Brien" ending after only seven months on air! :'( WHYYYYYYYYYY????!! LENO SUUUUCKSSS!!!11!!1 CONAN ROOOOOOOCKSSSSS!!!!!111!!!!!11!!1!1

So did I. I thought it was going to be something else that happened and you were going to make a list of all the things that are leading up to 2012 :P

I barely have a clue about what's going on in Haiti, but I've been following this one like a madman. :P

NBC have treated Conan horribly! in 2004 they promised him the tonight show if he would stay with them. And now this happens..... So f***ing low >:(

The Barbarian.

He destroys his enemies and listens to the lamentations of the women.

This is as good a place as any to post this animation (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lJ9m1an-pQ8) about the talkshow wars, for people who haven't seen it.

Yep, Conan The Barbarian O'Brien (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g0YK646-iBU)

Oh, and that animation is great ;D, chinese news apparently have too much time on their hands :P

I will take Conan O'Brien for the WIN!!! He is way better than Leno.

Arboris would also agree, because that is his AVATAR.

Good Luck Conan in the future, you red headed funny dude.  :)

I would agree that the word "world" is not quite appropriate but what other word than "tragic" better describes an overpaid, unfunny comedian whining about his time slot being moved by a half hour.   If it wasn't so sad it be funny ;).

Oh, lighten up will you.

Conan happens to be one of my favourite american comedians.

It's just too bad they don't broadcast his show over here. A shame he's gonna quit

It's weird.  I've never found Conan to be particularly funny, but at the same time he's a compelling host and seems like a lot of fun.  So while he has yet to make me laugh, I still find his show entertaining at times!

Leno's a dick. So is NBC.

I guess that's what you get for being a good guy.

Tragedy in the world?
Pfff, NBC didn't came to this decision because O'Brien's show was so hot, but because ratings were down (as in nobody watched it!).
As stated in this article (http://www.cracked.com/blog/why-conan-should-work-for-cracked/) why host a crappy show when CoCo (http://www.tonightshowwithconanobrien.com/video/clips/twitter-tracker-060209/1116881) can work anywhere?

This is what I miss from Conan's original Late Night show...If They Mated

I don't know if this was ever introduced on The Tonight Show, but was always funny as hell.

Well, At least we are not talking about David Letterman... :P :P

Don't know much of Leno, but I do know, that I got pretty bored of Conan after a few shows I saw, seeing as his humour is only like making fun of himself. I mean: "what on earth is that, boy that would look bad on me" and then he makes a stupid face. And it fits people who alreasy like him and his humour. Not me. I think it's not good comedy if you're making yourself a laughing-stock. Also, he invites people to visit, never really gives them more than 3 minutes, then they go or start making fun of him... seriously.

So the last show was yesterday, it's over :'(

As a follower of the show since the start (Only clips they upload, since the show doesn't air in Sweden >:() this clip was very emmotional for me:
http://www.tonightshowwithconanobrien.com/video/clips/conan-looks-back-012210/1196123/ (http://www.tonightshowwithconanobrien.com/video/clips/conan-looks-back-012210/1196123/)

I smiled, I laughed and I even shed a tear! And I never do that :P

I know he's probably not reading this, but still: Thank you Conan, for one of the best shows I've ever seen. Good luck in the future. Wherever you may go, I will follow. :)

btw. I know the topic title is a tiny bit exagerrated, but that's the way I felt when I found out about this.
