Where I live, adulthood is reached at age of 18. This is where people (on official level) take you seriously, you can buy alcohol, drive a car, marry, join or start a political party, vote. I repeat, vote. And also, you're fully responsible of what you think and do. ie - you will go to a real prison if you commit a crime. World assumes you are serious individual with look and understanding on the world. That you are grown up. I don't really imagine prime minister discussing latest naruto episode during a lunch break in parliament. But by the law combined with 19-year olds' anime fandom, it's possible.

I don't see how that hypothetical Naruto-watching prime minister would consequently be an inferior prime minster. And I don't see how this particular form of entertainment would be per definition so closely linked to childishness in a negative sense, or harmful if not grown out of. It seems to me like just another form of cultural elitism, of the same kind as that of voice teachers who assert that the techniques of the modern operatic idiom are superior from a health perspective to those of other idioms, using terms like "healthy vibrato" to imply that what is really an issue of aesthetic preference is somehow universal and objective.

I couldn't agree more. It's just my personal preference. I love watching anime. I love playing video games, and even board/card games. Yes, that is me, I prefer using my head and heart rather than my strength, SO SUE ME! Thanks for that excellent comment EldKatt.

How about when Tosca killed Scarpia? When Ahab was finally consumed by his own obsession? When Friar Laurence's messenger failed to reach Romeo? I can see two possibilities here. Either you want your politicians to be some kind of supermen who have no interests besides politics, or you are indeed asserting that form of entertainment A is somehow superior to form of entertainment B. Which is it?

If you're happy with your cartoon world, why does my - I assume - somewhat ignorant - view on thing matter so much? You should realize that you cannot make me a leading enemy to the anime community: atleast few billion people would agree with me on this one.

I stated earlier and stay at this. I do not understand this anime hype thing. I even described in great detail how I see it (see soap opera comparasion). All you have done, Mykayel, is being aggressive and defensive and still, no one, including you - has shown me the "light" and told what IS so great about ninja boy adventures so even ministers and adults should see it and what makes me wrong. This hasn't grown to even a debate.

In conclusion, I don't see why am I so bad when I say that IMO, anime sucks. I don't.
And I really don't feel like I have to keep that in secret so Naruto fanboys wouldn't get upset for someone not liking their anime idol. It would be different matter if I was someone influential, like head of a state or something. They it would matter really and be seen as something evil and opressing.

And that's all I'm saying. You like it, watch all you want. I'm not trying to reprogam you to hate it, don't try same with me. Or atleast try really, not by unargumented attacks.

Ok, then, lets stop this childish fighting. I'll tell you what I find so interesting about Naruto:

It's not as idiotic as you might think, the basic plot line is that an organization calling themselves Akatsuki (each with unique abilities) is trying to capture Naruto, I don't know why yet, all I know is that it has something to do with the fox inside him. Beside that, the interesting part however is seeing Naruto's whole world falling on him, seeing how his best friend (with whom he started out as a rival witch also made it very fun to see how their friendship got created from hatred practically) becomes evil out of very good reasons. His friend is trying to kill his own brother since his brother murdered their entire clan and only Sasuke (the friend I was talking about) survived. Nobody understands why the hell someone would kill his own family, but they do show us the past, and something very odd WAS indeed going on. It's hard to explain, you have to actually see the episodes of the past to understand. Anyway, Sasuke later in the series, finally encounters his brother, but shocking, his brother is after Naruto, and what is even more shocking is that he is part of Akatsuki. Sasuke  fights him and ends up in the hospital, and then he decides to join forces with a criminal known as Orochimaru (also has a long story shown in a lot of episodes) in order to help him take down his brother. For some strange reason, Orochimaru is very intrested in the destruction of Akatsuki and in little Sasuke. It's a very long and complicated story, but everyone has a good reason for what they are doing and we see their past and what they are thinking witch also makes matter interesting. Lots of plot-twists and lots of very sad stories.

Anyway, as I said I enjoyed this anime but it sure as hell isn't even close to the best I've seen, I just randomly picked out Naruto's outfit and had nothing better to do than to put it on Trilby, that was it. (Ironic I also hated the Naruto anime) )

If you want a more mature anime however, I recommend one of my favorites (hmm, come to think of it, I think I even liked this one better than Monster) Mobile Suit GUNDAM : SEED. It is a story that starts out very interesting, a man discovers a medical method that can create a faster, smarter, stronger human being. The method can be done at birth, but it takes lots of money. But you know how humans are don't you? Once a new "breed" comes along, they start acting like they are monsters, freaks even do the genetically enhanced humans are just like us on the outside. From simple street attacks on the Coordinators (the enhanced humans) they end up creating an organization with the name of Blue Cosmos. Anyway skipping to the start of the war, Blue Cosmos used their governmental power to attack a whole Coordinator colony on valentines day. 200 thousand coordinators died (or so) a war began. The story is awesome and we see the life of the actual soldiers, we see how they are forced to fight, and we see both sides as being the good guys. We see fights between characters that you would wish they BOTH survived, but one of them does die. It's practically a War-Drama. You should look it up.

Maybe I even give this thing another try. Not Naruto though, but as I said, I HAVE seen good anime before so I'm not totally ignorantly hating whatever is called anime. I don't know if it's Anime or not, but Final Fantasy 3d movie (VII I think) was really cool. Even despite gay hairstyles.

I AGREE, you are refering to Final Fantasy Advent Children. It's the sequel to the story in Final Fantasy 7, a very cool RPG with very awesome gameplay (that's if you like Turn Based Combat) even do the graphics are kinda lame, but Hey it's old ) It also has a shooter Final Fantasy Dirge of Cerberus, detailing the story of Vincent, and a one that just got out called Crisis Core, showing us the story of Zack (the brunet guy from the end), Sephiroth and 2 new characters that don't appear in Advent Children.

Anyway, as you said before, this has gone WAY OFF TOPIC ) I'll post my other sprites I've done in my spare time just for the fun of it. Also Naruto characters, but as I said before, had some spare time and asked myself What the hey.

I don't really like naruto, his voice in the English voice overs could cut glass IMNHO, and it never really caught my interest "BELIEVE IT!!!" *ouch*. However, I do like anime. I recently saw howls moving castle, amazing, plot didn't make much sense in total, but it was still a magical experience, that man is THE master. The rest of the world may agree with me, but it is still true..
I also like Full Metal Alchemist, and Ghost in the Shell. I do like Avatar: the Last Airbender, that can best be described as American Animation Derivative of Anime. I like some manga, my faves been Red River and Parasite.
Cosplaying, sounds fun, I love Halloween, and a chance to do it more then once sounds neat.   I have never been cosplaying, but then I am also a trekkie, and have never been to a convention.
As far people say anime is kiddie, well I think that is a tad unfair. Look at a show or movie, and try look at the message not the medium.
Anime, like any animation allows a seamlessness of special effects that is possible only because it is all special effects. Look at the story, do you like it? Then watch it. Take it as face value, and not with  prejudices. Don't think "this is anime, this is bad." think "is this good anime or bad anime" expand your world, don't be confined to what you are used to.

Try watching a few Japaneses episodes, since his lines differ a lot, theres more violence, and he doesn't say that annoying BELIEVE IT shit eighter. :| I hate it, that's why I added the Belive It message as a joke to my sprite
Also, Full Metal Alchemist is awesome, I preferred the series over the movie.
Oh and as for Naruto's voice actor for the US version...YICKES! it sounds like he's trying to take a dump, but can't cause his underwear are glued to his kister. I also kinda hate Sakura's voice, not to mention the fact that Sasuke is even MORE EMO than in the jap version, how did that happen?  :o

Apparently "Believe it" is just to lipsync it when he really says "Dattebayo" or some shit in Japanese. I've personally never watched, if only because of the orange jumpsuit ninja issue.
